Known as the Dainty bauhinia or Natal bauhinia, this dainty shrub is lovely with its butterfly-shaped foliage and white, maroon-striped flowers which look orchids. This shrub is fast-growing and its blossoms can cover the shrub for long periods of time from late spring through the summer. It will grow in full or partial shade. It tolerates almost any amount of rain and is fairly frost-sensitive. This is a miniature variety of the bauhinia family and a lovely, hardy and rare specimen for any garden or bonsai enthusiast!
