the outside diameter of the wood inside of the cork is 1/2" at the widest and tapers slightly to 7/16". We will upload a new picture now.

Per the description: Medium measures - 2 3/4" long. Cork is 1 1/8" top x 1" bottom. Small measures - 2 1/2" long. Cork is 7/8" top x 3/4" bottom. Large measures - 4" long with cork - 1 3/8" top x 1 1/4" bottom

Q: Received the item. It appears to be always open. I can't get the knob to turn. How do you shut the flow of water/liquid off?

It does have a seal, and appears to not turn, but it will with 'some' force the first time.

It's currently working okay, but within 2 weeks of inserting in crock the wood cracked. Expansion seems to be helping, but would have liked a completely trustworthy product.
