Wilson 880-200154B W5000 Series Roof Top Mount Mobile CB Antenna Kit

Okay i love these Wilson 5000's but this model has issues with breaking/crack on plastic after a while i would like to see them fix this issue, but other then that i wouldn't buy another brand. if wilson wants to see that 5th star they will need to address this issue.

This is NOT a magnet base antenna. This deserves ONLY five stars. You have to drill a 5/8 hole in either your roof, trunk lid, or hood. It easily unscrews for car washes or low over head, if you place it where you can reach it. It comes with about fifteen feet of RG8u coax and has a special adapter to allow snaking the wire thru small spaces and then screwing on the supplied (speacial) PL259 connector. No soldering necessary. This is a quality item. The picture only shows the base with out the whip. That entire base and whip, unscrews easily. Then there is a weather resistant screw on cap, to cover the connector. You will need to store the cap when it is not in use if you plan to unscrew the antenna. got it and the KIT ! dose not come with an antenna. emailed the seller and never got a response.ordered an antenna from Wilson for this 5000 flush mount. got it installed and never could get it to work. took it off and apart and the cold solder joints are ALL APART. i tried soldering them thinking no big deal. got it soldered and tested good connection. re try and NO NOTHING. SWR never came lower than 9.0 even cut the antenna to tune and even with the antenna off the base it was the same. now i have an anttena i can't return. thanks..

Very well-made but the product said it came with a 62 1/2 inch whip it did not come with a whip. Whip had to be bought separately from a different vendor

The unit is great it came on time and works very well. However the advertisement the picture they show is not clear of how the unit is installed. I called Wilson to get a better view of the unit still could not tell how it is installed.Wanted to know if the cable came out from the side or from the bottom. Picture did not show this and Wilson Rep. could not tell me either. So I took a chance and purchased the unit. Cable came out from bottom as I wanted since I had a hole in my roof which I wanted to cover.Great unit and works very well.Rohi

I bought this roof mount to go on top of my classic 78 Ford F-250. It comes well packaged and is of high quality. The base screws onto the permanent mount. You'll obviously need to drill a hole in your roof or trunk lid. The whip that comes with it is long and sturdy. Performance is top notch. It also comes with plenty of high quality cable to run to your radio, a spare cable connector and a screw on plug for the mount so when you want to remove it, you just unscrew the base and screw on the plug. This will keep water and dirt from getting into your connector.

BEWARE, do not purchase based on the Thumbnail Photo of product or Product description! This product does not come with a magnet mount as pictured, The Title clearly states ROOF TOP mount which includes a mount designed to be installed in a hole drilled into your roof or trunk. ( Not an issue for me because I knew that already.) If you want a magnet mount you will need a separate Magnet Mount base. The Product description states that it comes with a 62 1/2 inch whip, IT DOES NOT! You will need to purchase a 62 1/2 inch whip for additional money, the MAG mount and whip will add considerably to the cost. Not sure where the issue lies. It gets a 1 star from me because of the deception in its advertising. The included photos are screen captures from this item and description.

I am changing the review to three stars....there is still something rattling around in the antenna...but it has good continuity checks all the way around so I'm willing to attach to my radio.
