Educational and well written
Extremely informative and written from a very relatable and reasonable perspective of a doctor and a mom all in one.

Very Helpful Perspective for An Expectant Father
I bought several books to read as an expectant father - to brace myself for the journey ahead, as well as to help empathize with what my wife was dealing with. This was the one I really latched onto. It’s an honest attempt at comprehensively covering about every aspect of the journey in a digestible and positive way. I appreciated the way the book was organized, the attractive media, and the form/weight of the paperback (which I lugged around everywhere). I’m not directly physically experiencing the pregnancy, but the info from the book served as great fodder for discussion with my wife (who is) and I can honestly say there wasn’t one thing experienced in our journey that wasn’t at least touched on in the book. The only thing I noted as an American reader is that there is a minor bend towards midwives and natural birthing that just isn’t as common in the USA. So it explores these practices in a bit more detail than I needed. And really this was the only way I figured out (halfway through my reading) that the author is UK-based. I could really tell she cares about the successful pregnancy of her readers. I definitely recommend the book.

So much better than What to Expect
Surprisingly, I chucked my pregnancy bible, "what to expect when you are expecting" after receiving this book. I loved the pictures and the information was in depth, yet not presented in a scary overwhelming way. I feel that you must be aware of all of the pregnancy complications that you might face, but do not need to feel that you are reading a manual on only complications! I felt that What to Expect opened you to all those complications and left you hanging, asking for more-and this book picks up where that one left off. Also, the author is an ob/gyn AND mother of twins. Note: I am also an RN who delivered 10 wks early related to preeclampsia and HELLP Syndrome. My son was a NICU grad after 4.5 months. So, looking back at the book after our ordeal, I still hold to this.

Don't listen to woke reviews
This book is absolutely amazing. Contrary to "woke" opinion, science DOES matter in regards to pregnancy and women's bodies (yes, WOMEN'S bodies-- being the only body that can be pregnant). Frankly, some of these reviews disturb me in regards disregarding sound, scientific fact in favor of "woke" ideology. If you want a highly-detailed, fact-driven, and very practical approach to learning about your body and the babies body during pregnancy, get this book.

Very informative and a great book to own
I absolutely loved this book. I initially picked it up because of the pictures in it (most of the other books I looked at just had sketches) and quickly found that I really enjoyed the format of it and the overall wealth of information.I will admit that I did couple it with the My Pregnancy Week to Week book so that I could get a more comprehensive overview of what to expect in any given week, since I'm Pregnant! grouped information into timeframes instead of focusing on one week at a time, but overall I was very satisfied with this book and have recommended it to several of my friends.
