This fixture is smaller that it appeared in the picture, but that worked out just fine. Check the dimensions if you are concerned. The light is fully adjustable so it can be pointed to just one location. I mounted one on each side of the cabinet over the bed. This allows each person to direct the light onto the book they are reading without bothering the sleeping person on the other side of the bed. The light is a pleasant reddish color like and incandescent bulb and not harsh white like many LEB bulbs. It has one unexpected feature. The switch is a small lighted push button at the bottom of the fixture. This makes a nice night light, but can be turned off. One press turns on the night light. The next press turns on the main light while the third press turns it all off. The only problem I had was with the unit that came apart in shipment. The globe is held onto the base figure with a shiny metal ring. One of mine came apart in shipment. I had to disassemble to the other unit I ordered to discover that the metal ring can be installed in two directions. One works and the other does not. I just fails off easily. After I turned the ring the correct way and reassembled, it has worked fine for over 1000 miles of travel. Overall this is was an excellent addition to my motorhome.

Our sailboat had some plain, old white plastic lights and we wanted to dress the old girl up, so ordered seven of these lights to replace the original ones The new lights really look great and add a touch of class to our boat's interior. We love the blue nightlight feature, and the lights are dimmable. They are not super bright, but certainly good enough for area use. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.

Great quality as advertised and mentioned by others. Install was smooth with one hitch. Needed to remove the small circular metal ring from inside the lamp base itself in order to affix the shade to it, and then screwed the shade assembly to the base. Very minor holdup on install, simple to remedy. We love the lamp function, and nightlight.

Looks good but you can’t wire it. There is no recess in the housing for the wire connectors at all, so unless you have a perfectly sized mounting hole already with a recess for wiring or direct access behind it. You can’t mount it. In a marine/boating environment this will never work. it’s useless because you can’t get it mounted.

On the whole, I love this little lamp: it is very well-made, was packaged very nicely, and is perfect for the corner where I put it, and it looks very nice and warm. What I wasn’t too happy about: Installing it wasn’t the easiest (my husband did it), and the fact that if the bulb burns out, I will have to replace the whole lamp... hopefully it will last many many years. These two reasons were why I didn’t give it 5 stars.

I fitted this to my boat and I absolutely love it. Very classy and provides a nice reading light, or ambient light facing the ceiling.
