I love these inks. They write smoothly and have a lovely, delicate shimmer when they catch the light. Great pigment density and hue.

Excellent. An ink to be used for special occasions. Care should be taken to shake well before use to distribute the particles for an even shimmer, and remember to wash out any unused ink from inside the fountain pen afterwards to prevent clogging. Best used on a good quality fountain pen paper, as it tends to write on the wet side. Also take care, as it may smudge due to its longer drying time.

This is beautiful although I can't get the shimmer to show as it settles at the bottom of the jar when filling the pen. Will be purchasing more inks from this brand though.

Beautiful colour and love the shimmer. Beware that the shimmer particles may clog up the system, so I tend to use a cheaper fountains pen with this ink. I've knocked one star off as it does take a bit of time to dry. However, it is a stunning ink and I will be buying again!

A beautiful colour - red with hints of copper. Works in all my pens, even fine nibs.

Good quality ink. A lot of inks seem to suit some pens a lot better than others - probably something to do with how the viscosity combines with the ink flow of the pen. This though seems to suit every pen I’ve tried it in (a dozen or so). Good flow, solid dark brown line which I like - most of the browns in my collection could almost pass for orange! I like it and will be looking at this brand for other colours too - so definitely recommended.

oltre alla bella confezione, l'inchiostro è buono. Personalmente che sia impermeabile m'interessa ben poco, poiché guardo alla qualità del tono, del riflesso, della fluidità nello scrivere e del fatto, importantissimo, che non intasi il pennino. Che abbia permanenza lo si vede con il tempo. Certo è un poco caruccio, cioè costa abbastanza, ma la qualità c'è. Se ti sporchi le dita o macchi altro, è importante poterlo lavare via, non mi interessa un inchiostro di china, che è grumoso e troppo denso, come già detto. Lo volevo per penna stilografica e non per pennello, quindi posso dichiararmi soddisfatto. Dovrebbe esistere anche la ricarica per il boccettino, quella sì, e non certo al prezzo della fornitura in questa lussuosa confezione.

Very great quality ink with very high amount of shimmer. The shimmer is very fine so it flows well with finer nibs. The ink doesn't dry super quickly, so watch out for smudges. 5 vials of 5 mls is a great size/ value. If you're like me and aren't huge on shimmer, but want to get your feet wet, this is a wonderful option. Herbin makes really great inks and you can trust them in your pens. Fabulous ink! I'm new to fountain pens & bottled inks, but I'm SO happy with this ink. It's a beautiful dark turquoise with fantastic gold shimmer. I wish I hadn't waited to song to buy it... but the other reviews convinced me. Let me just say this, if you're on the fence- BUY IT! You won't regret it. It writes silky smooth in my pen, a Noodler's Ahab with a Flex nib. In fact, I like it enough to use it as my everyday ink. Also, I look forward to trying it with a broader nib to bring out more of the gold shimmer. I like that it writes smoothly & dries relatively quickly in my experience. This color is so nice because it's not too shimmery... meaning if your not holding it up to the light, it just looks like a beautiful green.
