Great for teen Samaritan’s Purse Christmas shoeboxes.
The fabric scissors are good. This is a real sewing kit that will last. The products, especially scissors, in other sewing kits are poor quality.

Great contents, bad cover
This would be a great first time or travel kit, especially since most don’t include a seam ripper or normal sized scissors. Can’t wait to try the easy hemming tape! The cover is very awkward and you have to drag the plastic tray in and out each time… mine came in neon green which makes it look worse. It’d be nice if it was replaced by a slim plastic case/pencil box.

Everything you need to hem!
Singer did very good with this. It has everything you need to hem with. I just bought a new suit from amazon and the pants were not hemmed. So I got this kit and it did everything. My only suggestions would be to add a pin cushion to the kit. Also instead of straight pins with flat heads, it would be nice to have the ones with the pearl on top. I would have paid 2 bucks more for that upgrade! There are no instructions on how to use the hem tape (I did not have time to sew prior to the wedding I was going to). But a little search on the web and I found you just put the tape between the hem and use an iron set to wool. Press down without sliding around for about 5 seconds. Even though the fabric was 65% polyester and 35% rayon, it worked fine! I do plan to sew the hem at a later date.

Good for quick fix
Worked well to quickly repair the hem on several pairs of dress pants. Good for quick fix.

Must Have
This a great little kit to keep on hand for small mending. It would be a great gift for a college student or for anyone as a stocking stuffer. I purchased it to separate it from my sewing room. I know the sewists out there understand.

Huge disappointment! Sad to see a cheap Chinese product with the Singer name slapped on it.
You get what you pay for, I guess...thought the Singer name meant I was getting a great price for a quality product but that was not the case. It looked good when I received it, although I noticed right away the needle case is cheap plastic (the kind that cracks easily) and the sewing gauge is extremely flimsy. I tried to get a needle out of the twist-to-open case and found it very difficult to turn the dial. You have to line up the little opening on the side of the dial to the section with the needle you want, and dump it out the hole. After several attempts, it finally budged and overshot the hole for the needle I wanted. When I turned it back after much effort, about half the needles in that slot flew out and I realized they were not the ones I had "aimed" for. I gave up, decided to use one of those and had a hard time getting the rest back in because the hole was not lined up all the way with the slot. VERY frustrating. The needles themselves are not very sharp and don't have the weight or sturdiness of Singer needles I know and love (purchased years ago or used at Mom's, which could indicate I agree with PIERSONCOMPUTER's review - it's missing instructions for the hemming tape, and it would be nice to include a pin cushion. The pins come in a teeny thin plastic bag (sealed, not even a zip-lock type). So once opened, where do you put them? I had a huge magnet clip that broke (no longer a clip) so I included the magnet in my "kit" and it now houses the pins I've used in addition to the needles I couldn't get back in the case because it no longer turns to open the little hole.To this point, I would have given 2 stars. Had to take it down to one...The clincher that prompted me to post my opinion (and 1 star!) for this sub-par Singer product was the thread. I hadn't used it until today (several months after purchase) when I needed to repair a tote bag and found out you cannot easily find or get to the end of the thread to use it! I tried the black, then the navy, and neither had a free end available. I saw what I thought was an end sticking out of the black, but it was sticking out of the middle of the spool and would not budge. It was covered by many layers of thread and without unwinding at least half of it, I could not use it. I grabbed a third spool - red this time - just to see if I could find the end of the thread. Nope! Thinking this could not be possible, I had my BF try. I didn't mention how long I'd struggled with it. After about 20 minutes, I found him unraveling the red thread and fighting with it to keep it from tangling as it's very poor quality and "clingy" - it is sort of shredded and clings to itself. HORRIBLE quality. He has since confirmed not finding the end for the navy or black, and started pulling the thread off one end to fish for it on one of them. I told him to forget it. It's not worth the frustration and I don't trust the "shreddy" thread to hold.I finally rummaged through my travel stuff & found a sewing kit from a hotel. The needle AND thread were much better quality, and I used those to mend the tote bag handle. While I understand this is called a "Hemming Kit" and perhaps is only to be used in an emergency, I would have been quite upset if I had an urgent situation - perhaps a job interview that suddenly came up - and needed to do a minor repair with this kit.

CONTIENE LO NECESARIO PARA DOBLADILLOS
LOS ACESORIOS SON DE CALIDAD MEDIA YA QUE EL HILO QUE TRAE NO ES MUY BUENO YA QUE SE TROZA CON FACILIDAD, ADEMAS LA CINTA QUE ES MUY BUENA PARA PEGAR EL DOBLADILLO ES MUY POCA LA CANTIDAD.
