I bought this to bring a little silliness to the office. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the image! It's surprisingly sharp and well printed, especially considering the meme source material. I'm no expert, but it also appears to be a well-executed example of the doge meme. I was concerned about durability, but after more than a month and a half of almost-daily use this mousepad still looks brand new. Beware of spilling things on this mousepad, as due to its light coloration it is prone to staining (keep coffee far away!). Note that this is made of a fabric/rubber material, and it creates a bit more drag than a vinyl/smooth-topped mousepads. This is not a negative imo, but it does require a bit of an adjustment if you replace a smooth mousepad with this one.

So here's the deal-- I'm a 3rd year chemistry undergrad with a penchant for novelty items and when I was looking for a mouse pad, I thought to myself "wouldn't it be nice to have a cute periodic table as a mouse pad to say 'I'm quirky and self aware of the nerdy implications about being a physical science major'". As such, I diligently went onto amazon and looked up 'periodic table mouse pad'. Lo and behold, this was the only one that seemed to have a shred of graphic design skill applied to it-- others seemed to be wikipedia images pasted onto a mouse pad footprint and scaled accordingly. I was shocked and offended that anyone would pedal such garbage to a consumer as refined as myself. Also, it was pretty cheap. So I ordered the mouse pad, even though there was a little voice in the back of my head saying "that font looks an awful lot like comic sans". Upon receiving the mouse pad, I started using it and it has functioned perfectly well, I have uniform motion from my mouse and the rubberized bottom of the pad prevents slippage. However, the font is infuriating. If there is one thing that chemists hate above all else it is COMIC SANS. This periodic table, while accurate, uses THE WORST FONT KNOWN TO MANKIND! As such, I have removed a star-- I can't let such a gaff go unpunished in my evaluation. While the table includes atomic numbers, it does not include atomic masses or physical states at room temperature, neither of which is a dealbreaker considering that I probably wouldn't actually use my mouse pad as a reference, but they would have been nice touches to have. Additionally, the full names of the elements are not present in the table, but that may be a factor of the resolution at which this is printed more than a design choice, so I understand. Fonts preferable to comic sans in a future iteration of this product: Times New Roman, Calibri, Arial, WiNgDiNgS, LITERALLY ANY OTHER FONT!

I couldn't believe how top quality this mouse pad is. The image on it looks like a painted picture straight from the wall. It's beautiful. I would highly recommend this. I almost dont like using it because I feel like I'm gonna wear it out over time. But at such a great price I'll just keep ordering replacements!
