Garmin Drive UK mt-s sat nav.
I needed to get a new sat nav and decided on this model as it's similar to the previous Garmin that i have. It's easy to set up and easy to operate and you have got lifetime map updates.

Great budget unit, charge it first, get the one with handsfree calling.
If you realise that it needs charging in a wall charger, a kindle plug type will do, before you start things would be a whole lot better. Maybe a note to that somewhere in the box would be helpful. The instructions are useless. Charge it fully, attach it to the computer, download the interface and then up date the software. Easy peasy but not if you try it out of the box with the unit uncharged. It's a nice unit, large screen, excellent mount , again, instructions would be nice but hey ho. Wish I'd bought the Bluetooth one that takes handsfree calls now. It's good but pay a bit more if you can to get Bluetooth.

Basic but quick + simple
Finds satellites and gets position VERY quickly - a big improvement on our previous satnav. This is a fairly basic model; there's a single (perfectly acceptable) voice, and no facility (that I can find) for uploading lists of favourite places, waypoints, or points of interest. When entering a destination, you choose between either postcode, or town/street. It asks for town, then house number, then street. But if you just need to get to the town centre, there's no way to do that; it needs a specific street name, though not house number. So you have to guess for likely town-centre names (High Street, Station Road, Church Street etc), which when you're just trying to navigate town-to-town is a bit of a pain. The screen seems overly-sensitive to touch, so scrolling is very difficult; it keeps interpreting the touch as a click; same problem with zooming in/out. But, the navigation instructions are clear, and a big improvement on some systems. I'd personally like to see two turns ahead (i.e. arrow icon not just for the next junction, but the one after too). There are a few occasions when you can get wrong-laned because of adjacent junctions, but it will often give some hints (e.g. "take 3rd exit toward Sometown") so you can use street signs to assist in some cases. Unlike previous satnav, its battery will keep it running for about 20 minutes when not plugged in, so it's possible to setup routes etc from the comfort of indoors before plugging in. There are no bells and whistles on this, but "it does what it says on the tin" and does so simply and clearly.

Won't drive without my Garmin
The Garmin is so easy to use, nice and slim, touch screen works well, finds destination easily, it also indicates road speed changes which is very usefull, it will also tell you if you are going too fast, I bought it because I had just been caught for spending in a 30 zone when I thought that I was in a 40zone

Good value and works a treat
Haven’t attempted voice activation so can’t comment. More than happy with this device. It is intuitive to use, clear to read and I’ve not been lost - yet! Happy with my purchase and it’s updatable through the website.

Touch screen is annoying
Overall it is good but you will find yourself constantly deleting characters that you put in. It did also mess up an address using number and postcode, took me to the wrong street and I'm thinking this is the cause of many deliveries being taken to the wrong address, its fine if you make sure you enter the street name too. It is really let down by the keyboard, even if youre super careful yu will end up putting in the wrong letter/number and find ytourself having to dlete qute often

Simple quick and easy to use
Have been using for 5 months now - so far so good. Never used any fancy features and neither used it abroad - just put the post code and it works. It does work out the traffic dynamically as well. So all in all, a good buy for the price.
