This works, but it took compatibility mode to fix....
I initially had a problem, where I could hear the audio, but the video did not display. I'm running windows 10 OS. I installed and followed the installation, but still no video. I have to mention that it would work correctly the first time I ran it, if I installed, deinstalled, then installed it again. The driver is up to date for windows 10, according to the instructions. I may have some sort of driver conflict or something, but I could get the software to keep working every time. The good news is that it can work (at least for me) in compatibility mode and that worked for me every single time and that's how I have it configured to this day. If this is happening to you too, you might try the following, but no guarantees, every OS has different "stuff" installed. I could troubleshoot it further, but I just wanted the software to do its job of transfering VHS to digital. It does that very nicely and I couldn't be happier, since it only cost me $19...1. Right click the corner Windows 10 icon and select/click on File Explorer2. type C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcSoft\TotalMedia ShowBiz\ in the folder path (the current folder is displayed here and must be changed to the new path, to modify the specific file for your ArcSoft application3. Press Enter4. In the right window frame of the File Explorer window, where you can see the Name column, scroll down until you can see TMShowBiz.exe (this is the file that starts the ShowBiz video capture application.5. right click TMShowBiz.exe and click Properties6. In the TMShowBiz.exe Properties window, click on the Compatibility tab7. In the Compatibility mode frame, check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box8. In the same Compatibility mode frame, click the down menu arrow9. a drop down menu will appear. select Windows 710. In the Settings frame, check the "Run in 640x480 screen resolution" box11. Click OK12. Run the program again, it should display correctly in the capture window. make sure you have the ezcapture grabber selected as video input, in the capture window. Also make sure you have the right audio source selected, according to the instructions or you won't hear audio. it should be the same as your regular audio source or ez grabber sound in the device manager. Also, the 640x480 display will abnormally stretch the outer frame, so you wont see a stop button. Use ALT-C to start and STOP the video. Yes, everything will be giant, but at least it is working! When you exit, everything will go back to normal and you will have your regular display back. If it does, your done! If it doesn't you may have some other issue going on :-(This worked for me, so hopefully, it works for you. As always, no guarantees. This is what worked for me.If it doesn't, then your likely suffering from a hardware connection issue. See if another application, like VideoLan VLC media play will show the video in capture mode. The hardware works exactly as described.Another suggestion I might try sometime is to adjust my display resolution to something lower and try the software without the compatibility mode on. $19 seems like a bargain compared to the others. All I wanted was to convert my VHS to digital, so I can save my old videos, which are degrading fast. I've had them around 25 or so years, so it seems like they're losing their analog magnetic recording imprint. Transfering them to digital seems like a good failsafe. Don't expect DVD or even CD quality out of VHS tapes. Those things have been around since the 80s and back then the tubes displays VHS really well. Another note, this only encodes to mpeg2. Which is fine, since this is VHS, not DVD. I plan to batch encode all the video to another codec to shrink the file size down even further. Hopes this helps you decide. I know I'm happy with this product...

Needs prerequiste drivers
Nowhere in the limited documentation does it say that you need 'Sonic CiniPlayer decoder pack'The Capture panel wants this installed. Without it the program won't work.I have no intention of running this in 'compatibility' mode like one reviewer here did. That's a crap solution.Another 'reviewer' claimed excellent online help.... really? The ArkSoft website is pathetic.Oh yeah, some technical info: I'm running Windows 10 on an HP Conpaq. Also note that any reputable website wants $14.99 for a download of this decoder pack (CPDP.msi).
