Arrived in a nondescript box. Sharp but not sharp enough to shave with. Very tight, almost too tight to open. Absolutely lovely and even though it is not a locking knife it seems very sturdy and takes effort to close the blade. We'll see how it holds up to use, though it is so lovely I'm hesitant to use it.
