faulty, beware
It got water damage from a light splash of water when washing my hands and stopped working after about a week... despite claiming to be water resistant up to XX meters. Utter piece of sh1t. Serves me right for buying such a cheap watch

Surprisingly good deal
Summary: for $40, this watch is exceptionalWhen I saw the price on this watch, I assumed that it couldn't be any good. I've never seen a decent mechanical wristwatch for this price. However, for $40 it was worth an experiment. The item was packaged in a stylish case. The watch looks fantastic. The leather band is equally attractive, it fits well and is just the right mix of pliable and stiff. When winding the watch, the mechanism feels firm and well-constructed. The push buttons set the day and date. When I first tried setting the date, I would push the button but the dial would not move. Perhaps I wound the spring too tight on my first try because later that afternoon the date button worked correctly. It's worked fine ever since. The watch has proven plenty accurate for my purposes. It gains or loses a couple minutes each week as long as I store it on its side during the night. When stored on its back or on its front, it sometimes loses/gains a couple hours during the night. I haven't reproduced this consistently, but storing the watch on its side always works.I'm fairly sedentary during the day so the automatic winding doesn't produce enough energy to keep the watching running indefinitely. I usually wind it a few turns each morning when I wake up. I haven't yet had the watch die on me yet.My only real complaints have to do with the day and date indicators. The letters on each are so small that I can hardly see them and my eyes are in good shape. The letters are also inside the dial so the hand covers the letters. That makes it hard to tell which date is being pointed at. It would also be helpful to have some kind of AM/PM indicator. The first couple times I set the date, it advanced at noon because my watch was off by 12 hours. I eventually fixed it, but it was a little annoying at first.I haven't had the watch long enough to notice whether it has a perpetual calendar or not. At this price, I'm guessing that it does not.Anyway, this is a great watch for $40. I'm very pleased with it.
