If your are a beginner, and want to build your self an amazing audio system on your car, this is the book you need. The book provides an introductory explanation of each topic, and then it moves to more technical information, always with a reference to real world applications. With a lot of pictures , diagrams, key terms and glossary sections for each chapters, the author shows the basic principles and provides the know how. Features the following chapters: Head Units, Equalizers, Crossovers, Amplifiers, Speakers, Enclosures, Wiring for sound, Ground rules, Installations (Hands on tech). The book may look out of date, but the principles and math are still the same, maybe there should be a second edition or an update.

It's okay for beginners. A bit outdated. Also advisable to learn the basics of car audio. May be a bit more extensive.

I have read the book three times and it is still hard to understand. But when I installed my system with the little knowledge of car audio that I have, My system sounded great. I entered three bass contests and I have won two of them. I hit 149 decibles with a 100 watt urban, i have two 12 inch tweeters, or subwoofers and i used a phat factory tape player. The book told me how to install an amplifier into all types of factory systems. I recommend that the beginner car system builder acquire this book somehow.

I bought this book because I was looking for help in hooking up my stereo system, in my car. I'm still looking... This book MIGHT have been half-way helpful if they had some more detailed wiring diagrams. Although the fact that everything in this book is something along the lines of 10+ old tech. The guy with the mullet in alot of the install pictures and the presance of tape decks all over the place really tells you just how outdated it is.

The book is great. It covers the basics but also dips into some of the more complex theories & topics. The only negative thing I have to say is that the pictures are shot from poor angles, it's difficult to figure out what your looking at. Overall, it's short and sweet. It gets the job done!

Think this book was aimed at the American market, it was also , or seemed to be quite outdated. It was however in excellent condition.
