Apache Canyon (Lucky Luke)

This is my absolute favorite Lucky Luke comic, and also the very fist one I read!! Highly recommended for even non-fans

A classic, to not miss

There is no adventure quite like a Lucky Luke tale. Originally published in 1971, Apache Canyon is the story of Luke and his efforts to make peace with the band led by Patromino.Being largely a `misadventure', The supporting cast provides comedy just as Thurston Howell the Third, Gilligan, Maryanne, Ginger, and the Professor did for the Skipper. This time around, we have the band led by Patromino, the fort Colonel, O'Nollan and his merry band of Irish (save one) soldiers, and one angry medicine man, all to make Luckyluko seem brave and wise. Back to the plot. Make peace with Patromino. The sub-plot: help Colonel O'Nollan find his lost son Subplot 2: How will Lucky Luke find his way into the confidences of Patromino and his men. Comedic technique: the returning hero/hostage and an obvious solution that is NEVER taken. Comedic technique 2: Ants and honey. Have to read to find this one out.All in all, Morris and Goscinny are masters of the craft. This is a side splitting, gut aching funny story. Actually, they might have gotten the plot from a Gilligans Island episode now that I think about it...I love the art that makes this comic escapade readable and easy to follow. Sure, now you're thinking that I'm a half wit. But, if I had half a brain, I'd do something about that! Sergio Aragones has a rival in this team.Any Lucky Luke adventure is worth the price. Cinebook is to be applauded for their introduction of Luke and his pals into our North American marketplace.Merci.Tim LasiutaAs a side note, check out the Lucky Luke DVD's starring Terrence Hill. Don't know much about them, but I sure want to!

Where can you go wrong with Lucky Luke? The cowboy is so cool and faster than his own shadow, so what's not to like.
