Zilker Smart Hose Faucet Water Timer - Add-On Valve - Programmable with Local Weather Data - Wireless Control - Flow Meter (Gallons) - Detects Leaks Bridge Required (Sold Separately)

- Had multiple valves.- Am currently attempting to send them all back, but having a terrible experience with support.- Valves seem to melt/degrade if exposed to temperatures above ~88deg - San Francisco warm days (which aren't really that warm) - and start leaking terribly after this. Experienced this with multiple valves- Very poor range from the base station to the valves- No support for multiple base stations to solve the above- When on the edge of range, app starts doing weird things such as failing to water and adjusting the moisture levels as if it has completed a water.- App is super buggy and times out often.- Support desk described it as a "MVP" (Minimum Viable Product) when I tried to get them to take this seriously providing support.Sad really, this could be a fantastic product, and I really tried ways to make it work (i.e. wrapping valves in hessian sack to protect from heat) - however they are useless.Terrible support experience too. Do not recommend.

Bought 5 of these a couple of weeks ago. One of the valves doesn’t open from time to time reporting “no flow was detected” in the app. If I stand next to it I can certainly tell there is no clicking sound when this happens, so the valve doesn’t even try to open before reporting no flow. However if I manually push the button on the valve it will open without any issues. Hope this is a software glitch which will get fixed soon.Update: discovered another glitch where valves would stay on while the app reports that watering was completed. This one is very annoying because if you miss it the sprinklers will run nonstop. The only way to resolve this remotely is to run the manual watering on the stuck valve however sometimes the iOS app would start crashing not allowing you to do that.

Love these valves. I've tried other wireless valves before, most communicating over a wireless signal. The Zilker valves use radio waves to make their connection and it has worked like a charm. Solved all my previous connection problems.The base station is in my house by the front door, it reliably controls the three valves I have in the back yard, through the kitchen, backwall, and decking, 50' away. The two valves out front are no sweat.Easy set-up, nice interface with lots of watering options. If you are in the market for wireless valves look no further, they are worth every penny. I would like to see smart home integration at a future point (either Alexa or others), and if Zilker would come out with a soil moisture monitor that would be great as well. But really, those points would be icing on the cake.

UPDATE: a few weeks after posting my positive review, referenced below, one of my Zilkers burst and was spewing out water all day while I was at work, I just happened to go to the front to check the mail and notice the device was spewing out water and checked my app and it showed offline. Fast forward about two weeks later and I’m on vacation out of town and get the notification that another Zilker is offline, my first thought was great it’s spewing out water and I can’t just go and turn it off, I had a friend go by the house to check and luckily this was not the case however the device has continuously went on and offline, I have tried resetting it and it continues to go offline and back online multiple times a day. I tried looking up “contact Zilker” on amazon but keep getting an error message so I have had no success in contacting Zilker to try to get these issues resolved. After these frustrations I would have to say Zilker is not a reliable option, stick to what works and don’t waste your time and money on these, they clearly have some refining to get these right.The Zilker is great! If you don’t want to pay for a sprinkler system but need to do some watering buy this and a soaker hose and your all set, I love the functionality and ease of use with this device. I have had three of these for about two months now and no complaints. Great product!

We bought this for our cabin which is unattended all but a couple weekends a month so it was very needed and very important to us that it worked well and didn't leak water while we were a hundred miles away unable to control the situation. We are 1 month in now and could not be more thrilled with this purchase!!!! It set up like a breeze and I LOVE the app itself - extremely user friendly to say the least. We bought the extra unit and the hose splitter (adapter? whatever turns the water source into 3 outlets) because we needed to have 2 independent zones and they work flawlessly. We even put one of our security cameras right next to the water source so that we'd know if it started failing and leaking water - thus far, it's been absolutely flawless. It messages you how many gallons it used each time and will tell if you if it intends to water that day or not due to rain conditions etc. Beyond in love with this so far!
