Lip Fell Off After First Strike
The Xrap long cast (12) is supposed to be a durable lure for saltwater species. The first time I used the lure the "diving lip" detached and fell off after ONE strike. A short fight with a small tarpon (10-15lbs) should not destroy a $15 lure. I have dozens of Rapalas and have never had the lips fall off until recently. This lure and 2 Rapala Balsa BX swimmers. One use, one strike and the lips fell off. I have many regular Xraps that are the same size that tarpon have blasted multiple times. The finish gets scuffed, hooks bent, but the lips never fell off. Rapala has a warranty, but you have to fill out a form and mail them the broken lure at your cost. Pain in the as$ and not worth the trouble.
