Light Weight Minimal Adjustment Aero Bars
Opera TT bars are very light. Once installed, they reasonably comfortable. The problem is installing the bars. This should be simple. But there are plastic nuts that fit in holes on the inside of the bars. Then, from the underside of the bars, a 4 millimeter nut, goes through a bracket on the underside of the handlebar, into the plastic nut. Extra plastic nuts are provided because the plastic nuts strip easily. I tried to tighten the screw 30 miles from home. The nut fell out, the plastic nut was stripped. With assistance, holding the bike up so the sun shined on the underside of handlebar. After 20 minutes, we got the screw to grab some threads and tighten it down. The pads are not adjustable and have very thin padding. I can get into a good aero postion. The bars add minimal weight to the bike. For the price, I am living with bars for 3 weeks. After my 160 mile ride, I am putting on my one piece carbon handlebar and stem.
