Smart IR, WiFi Smart Home Control, Make Your Home Smart Through WiFi, Universal IR Remote Compatible with Alexa and Google Home, Remote Control with App for Apple Android

My only purpose in ordering this device was because it said it was compatible with Alexa and yes some very basic things to work with Alexa but my main issue and concern is that this device is not compatible with most of my devices so you'd have to manually program the buttons buy manually programming the buttons Alexa does not recognize the devices that you have program thereby this device is pretty much useless for me unless I want to use with the actual phone and app if that was the case then I would give this 4 stars but that is not the case I did not purchase this to use with my phone and app I purchased it to use with Alexa I hope this helps anyone trying to purchase this device

I purchased this due to its reported Alexa Support. Since I already use the Smart Life app for some of my automation, I thought this would be an easy fit.However... if you want to control your IR devices via Alexa THIS IS NOT THE PRODUCT FOR YOU. It may work with devices recognized from its device database (mine wasn’t), but if you use the learning feature, then you should note that learned buttons simply won’t sync over to Alexa. You can’t even create Scenes/Automations for learned buttons in the Smart Life app, and control them that way.From what I see there is no workaround available to control custom/learned IR actions from Alexa.Despite this, I’ll still give it 3 stars, as it does technically function, and may still be of use to people who don’t care about the Alexa integration.

I've been playing with this for a few days. First Impression: feels light and cheap, had trouble setting it up on my 2.4 Ghz band wifi, but it connected just fine to my 5 Ghz wifi. I wanted to use this to control a mood light that came with a control, and was disappointed that Alexa can't control any DIY remotes in the app; but it worked fine with my TV. This would be a very cheap alternative to any other smart home remote device that uses IR.

Very useful to remote control a device like a DVD player / recorder in another room in the house from a smart phone. The learning function did require some persistence. Some times adding new function keys to the app worked fine, other times it did not work. Did not find any pattern to the learning problems, but persistence paid off. But once a learned key worked, it worked consistently.

Works great, can be easily connect to basic devices like TVs but also can control smart things, like lights, switches and others, is like a little centralize hub.

The directions need to be rewritten for clarity. The unit did not work by selecting the appliance model, but after disregarding the booklet and using the GUI --------> success. Nice that this unit works duplicating the IR remote control. Only needed ON/OFF... nothing else. So far it's five stars, but because of the documentation, rated it four stars.

This product appears to be primarily intended for home automation; however, it is not great for use as an infrared remote replacement. The universal infrared remote (and IR blaster) has no support for audio / home theater systems other than the “learning” function (DIY), which did not work with my basic Sony receiver. It did work with my LG television, but even then, it was good only from about 5 meters (and not the 7 meters mentioned in the “manual”).If you are looking for a app-based universal remote to control your home theater, this is not a great solution.

I purchased this because we are always losing remote controls & having to go online & search for the right remote control app for each appliance is such a hassle- It's awesome! Now I can use my iPhone for everything- I have a video doorbell I want to try to connect & as soon as I purchase smart lights will connect those too- Great idea
