OEM Yamaha Snowmobile Solid State Fuel Pump Relay (Red Relay) On 2006 to 2013 fuel injected models (Apex, FX Nytro, Vector, Phazer, RS Venture GT) the mechanical fuel pump relay can freeze in extreme cold temperatures while the unit is shut off for an extended period. When this occurs, the engine will crank but not start due to lack of fuel pressure. To cure this install this new updated solid state fuel pump relay. Yamaha Part #: 8GN-81950-00-00 Replace the following part numbers 8FP-81950-00-00 8FP-81950-01-00 8HG-81951-00-00 8HG-81950-09-00 Review: Replaced 2 part mechanical on Viking - Fuel pump died, during diagnosis and reading up to see if there was something I'm missing on that issue, I read a lot of guys running into the mechanical relays freezing up on them in the sub-zeros on the Vikings, stopping power to the fuel pump and stranding them. Right now mines in the desert of southern Nevada but it sees some bitter cold in other states. Grabbed this in case the mechanical was bad but also to avoid the issue in the future. Popped right in easy, fits perfectly, works just fine. Will see which other relays I can swap for this too. Might as well.
