Great addition to someone needing an electric heating source who is familiar with electric wiring.
I used it to use my conical fermenter as a boil kettle for a distillation apparatus. This combined with a variac allowed me to control the rate of heating. The distillation proceeded smoothly. The amperage draw was as expected. It requires wiring and care should be taken to use an appropriate power cord.

Easy to swap or replace with another unit.
Needed this for a project and the tri-clamp fitting is what drew my attention. Note that the cable gland is a PG-21. It is too big for any cable I am using on 120V. To achieve a sealed entrance, I used 3/4" x 1/2" reducer bushing and a 3/4" electrical locknut on the inside of the housing. I then bought some 1/2" NPT cable glands to thread into the reducer.

Great for Home brewing
The 2500W element is best for 5gal batches. It has the ability to heat up the wort very rapidly. I will recommend some form of insulation around the boil kettle if you are brewing outside in the cold. That is the only time I have seen the 2500W struggle. Now the 1500W 120V version is good only for 1 to 2Gal batches. It simply does not heat up a 5Gal batch quickly. It will take more than an hour to bring 5Gal to a boil so I would recommend that one only for small batch brewing.

Boiling 5 gallons in 1 hour
Great element. Fits well, no leaks. I could use a larger wattage, but this product is very well made and worth the price. Mine did come with a screw on, metal cap. The hole in the cap is a little large for the gauge of wire i used (extension cord) so i wrapped with electric tape to snug the fit. Great for brewing or distilling with PID control. Boils my 5 gallon mashes in about an hour. I do recommend
