Split Knuckle Fence Decorations - Snap-on Railing Parts Transform Your Stair Railing, Wrought Iron Pickets, Staircase Balusters or Garden Gate - Durable ABS Plastic (Black, 6-Pack) by Simshoe

After we hired a welding contractor to install several new wrought iron handrails on the exterior bluestone steps of our home. We selected a handrail with iron knuckle decorations welded on the picket railings. We like the look so much that we decided to incorporate the same appearance of the exterior design to the interior handrails. Simshoe's Split Baluster Knuckle was the perfect product to make my interior handrails look exactly like the exterior handrails. The ABS plastic knuckles were easy to install. Just measure the width of the picket rail to insure a proper fit. Mine measured 1/2" inch and snapped in perfectly. Note, that I did have to apply a thin strip of painter’s tape around a number of my picket because the knuckles when applied were a bit loose, but the tape simply solve the problem. Now that all the knuckles are strategically in place, I am going to remove one-half of the knuckle, apply a bit of glue to one side and snap it back in so that all the knuckles stay firmly in place. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. See my photos for the final expression of my project.

We completely renovated the house we just bought. It wasn't in the budget to redo the entire staircase and we were limited on update options since it was curved. Not sure how I stumbled on this idea of the plastic knuckles but they are an awesome solution. We painted the staircase Sherwin Williams Tri-corn black semi-gloss. And even though the black knuckles I ordered here are not an exact match, I really didn't find a need to paint. Once I installed them I really liked how easy and cheap it was to have a completely different look. I would highly recommend measuring closely before ordering, as I ordered too small at first. Other projects online mentioned glueing, and I also didn't find a need for this as they fit pretty snug.

These things completely transformed my staircase. They were relatively cheap and easy to install, just be sure to measure COMPLETELY AND ACCURATELY. I wish I had a before and after shot. I took off one star because they don’t come with any adhesive so you have to use crazy glue or some other kind of ahesive. Doing this correctly takes a while to get used to and because you want them to be permanent by using a strong adhesive, it single handedly turns the overall project into a very unforgiving one if you install it incorrectly and/or crookedly.

These are awesome! I used a tiny piece of gorilla tape and put it on the bar, placed the knuckle over it and it fit perfect. I like these because I can change the design whenever I want. If you want them on permanently you can use the gorilla tape so they don’t slide down and add a little glue to them as well. So perfect and just what I needed to perk up my stairs!

Had to raise up my gate because it was getting stuck. Found these plastic knuckle things. Simply epoxied them on and painted them with rust oleum copper. Did cut and extend the 2 posts and used TruClose hinges. Also, would highly recommend. Found the top scroll thing in HD. The knuckles took away the prison bars look. These are very well made and very reasonable priced. Thank you Simshoe.

I was wanting to update my railing but not replace it. Found these and LOVE! They are durable plastic that clip together in place. Totally updated my railings and no one can tell that it isn't part of the metal railing!

I bought it installed for my gate . Look good with the little adjustment. I will buy it again to add the bottom gate .

I really like the way they turned out on our pool gate. It really dressed gate up for sure. They were just a tad larger than the spindle, so I added super glue to make them hold properly. 😊
