Live Your Dreams

This is an excellent book. It is very motivating and empowering. It also helps you process through and rethink some of your blocks to success. One of the things I appreciate most about Les Browns message is that he is very upfront about how very hard it can be while you are working toward your dream. I always thought that hitting a lot of obstacles was a sign from the universe that it wasn't meant to be. What I'm learning is that change, any major shift in life is very painful. But that doesn't mean it is not for the best. And from what I hear it doesn't mean that things won't work out. You have to keep going. Most people don't keep going. They give up. I should also note that my dream is a personal one,not a professional one, and I still found this book extremely helpful.

Les Brown's story is inspiring. I love the way he weaves his story with the lessons he learned. It is positive, offering much advice on making your dreams come true. On page 184 under the heading "Hold the Upper Hand," he shows you how positively charged people hold the upper hand. In two lists he shows you the negative charged attitude and the positively charged attitude. I found it helpful to see the contrast. This book covers many topics that are holding us back in fulfilling our dreams. I am reading black authors this month and this is by far the best book I read. The end of the book contains a "Live Your Dreams Action Planner." This is a book I will read again! Watch Les Brown on YouTube he is a fabulous speaker and motivator.

Les Brown’s book is hard to put down because he truly lifts his readers up! I enjoyed every moment of this book. I purchased this book a few days before I experienced a personal health issue. I decided to read it after my scare and have been excited about things I began to shove away. The things I found myself brushing aside are the very things that align with my purpose. I am truly thankful for Mr. Les Brown and his decision to live his purpose. I purchased and read this book at the right time. The way he speaks about purpose and going after your dreams, is unmatched. I am thankful for the time he put into sharing words of advice and wisdom. Mr. Les Brown thank you for Living Your Dreams and sharing the value of living dreams. You are truly appreciated and I look forward to meeting you soon!

This book went beyond and above expectations. It read it over and over again to make sure I swallow each pieces of the author’s knowledge and personal experiences.The work here is more practical, designed to help readers gain meaningful resources to become WHO they truly want to become. I cried when I finish reading this book! Les Brown is one of my favorite people in the world. I love his message, his powerful inspiration. If you enjoy listening to Mr. Brown speaking, you will feel that he is talking to you on this book. It is written in the same tone as he speaks, you get absorbed by his stories. I love the fact that the book also come with plenty of applicable exercises and hands on suggestions to implement right away. I keep this book in my bag all the time, I use it for reference when I want to share a particular message with others. This is an amazing book you definitely need to have in your possession.

This book is very motivational and will help you get going in the right direction. The principals and stories are good illustrations of ways to stay positive and working toward your goals. The stories really pain the picture of the principals stated. It is easy to read and can be somewhat entertaining. I only gave this one 4 stars because it was not super organized, and as someone who does not notice typos and grammar errors, there were a good number that jumped out.

I've worked for over nine years and have become successful at my career. I also just completed an MSc. in Information Systems Management at 27 years but have found myself unsatisfied. The dissatisfaction not from my lack of achievement because I found myself wanting more and feeling like I still didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. I'm only in Chapter one but I'm profoundly impressed with the content of this book, I can't put it down and continue to be mid blown by the nuggets of wisdom shared like "Tough times don't last, tough people do" and "There comes a time when you have to drop your burdens in order to fight for yourself and your dreams". I can say now that I'm at a turning point in my life and I'm happy I was told about this book.

Les Brown is the best. No other person I have met who has a way with words and who can inspire you. His first book, so his early life is more clearer in this writing. Some grammatical mistakes in it, but nothing where you wouldn't know what the point of what he is trying to write is. I love the action steps in the end. It is a great pair with some of his newer books.
