The first step for cooking effectively with tofu is removing excess water. The Tofu Tamer makes this process quick, easy, and less messy than other methods. There are many tofu presses on the market and almost all of them press the tofu unevenly because they have two narrow posts to create pressure on a wide block of tofu. The 4 post Tofu Tamer solves this problem with COMES WITH A ONE YEAR WARRANTY! We know the Tofu Tamer will withstand the test of time. Each of the two screw down posts have springs on both sides of the plate to provide nice even pressure. The Tofu Tamer squeezes the water out of tofu by pressing down the top plate with springs and adjustable knobs. The springs keep pressure on the tofu so you don't need to continually turn the knobs. -The springs between the plates keep the tofu press open and ready to use. Models without springs will cause plates to continually collapse on each other(if you prefer the press without springs they're easy to remove). -One Year Warranty included -Quality construction with food grade plastic plates, BPA free. -Stainless Steel nuts, bolts, washers and springs ensure no rust -Our plastic plates are molded with special foot pads so it does not wobble or scratch any surface with the bolt heads. -Springs are guaranteed for 50,000 cycles -Presses tofu in 10 to 15 minutes. -Easy to clean with warm water or in the top rack of your dishwasher -Use Firm or Extra Firm Tofu. Like every other tofu press, this is not intended for silken tofu.

It works!
My husband was skeptical, but even he admits this little device does an excellent job of removing the maximum amount of water from tofu. I've always struggled to use my Japanese mother's method: sandwich between two cutting boards, one end elevated, heavy can on top. The can invariably falls off as the tofu gets compressed, leaving a big mess. This happens multiple times. With this great invention, I just have to remember to periodically tighten the screws. Result: really dense tofu that soaks up whatever marinade or sauce you want to use. Highly recommended!

Excelent tofu press
This is why I gave this 5 stars: it's made of high density plastic, kind of like the stuff that cutting boards are made of, it's easy to clean, all the hardware is stainless (or so they say, time will tell) it has springs above and below the top board and finialy it doss a nice job of squeezing the water out of the tofu. The company came out with a 4 screw model but honestly I think that was completely unnecessary. All that for about $20, pretty good I think.

Tofu Presser Worked like a Charm
I am very happy with the Tofu Tamer Press. It removed the excess water without having to balance heavy pans, etc. on top of the tofu. I did use it on a flat serving tray with raised edges covered by a hand towel to catch the water.I will continue to use it and I recommend it.

Not worth it
When I went to press my tofu it automatically broke into pieces instead of being drained in its rectangle shape and totally ruined the whole point of the press I could of broke it up myself for all that

Sturdy but looks unfinished
Tofu Tamer is larger than I expected although that means that it easily accommodates all of the tofu we've asked it to press. I use mine edge-on, positioned on a full size plate to catch the water run-off so you'll need some room in the fridge to accommodate the press. The nut, bolt and spring arrangements are a bit industrial and slightly disappointing in comparison to the sturdy boards. The look a little unfinished and are difficult to clean hence dropped a few stars in my rating. But it does work well and certainly has advantages over paper towel, plates and can stacked on top of the tofu.
