Maybe OK for coffee.
Better than Milk - Rice (Vanilla) contains maltodextrin, a starchy substance, (made from rice in this case) as its primary ingredient. After that there is sunflower oil, cane juice, maltodextrine (a bulking agent used in coffee creamers, dairy products, etc.) and some other fairly harmless ingredients. I am not a fan of precessed food, but I am looking for a coffee creamer without hydrogenated oils or cow's milk.I would not consider this a healthy product to drink by the glass. There is a lot of processing that goes into making this product. In addition, the sunflower oil is bound to be rancid after a couple of days on the shelf. Rancid vegetable oil is very bad for your arteries. I will store my open container in the refrigerator. For me, the rice powder is too sticky to bu useful as rice milk. The sticky quality of this product would elicit my gag reflex eventually. For use in coffee, the taste isn't bad. It is reminiscent of vanilla flavored powdered coffee creamer. For people accustomed to the taste of mucous products (Dairy), it has a kind of "snot" substitute which sticks to your palette. This is probably the attributes of the sunflower oil and maltodextrine. I would recommend using this sparingly in your coffee. You can add a little powdered goat's milk in lieu of too much rice powder in order to keep the sweetness and stickiness to comfortable levels. The rice milk powder does not dissolve quickly in your coffee. (Neither does goat's milk powder.) You will have to wait at least 5 minutes after you drop in the rice powder if you don't want to chew your coffee. Stirring helps but does not dissolve the powder immediately.I found a couple of uses for the powder. It is probably not the intended use. The powder seems to improve the taste of chocolate soy ice cream substitute. It also goes well in plain oatmeal with a little cinnamon. Just add a tablespoon or two while you are cooking or heating the oatmeal and shake on some cinnamon. Oatmeal is lumpy and sticky anyway so you can't tell that the rice powder is also lumpy and sticky. The rice powder is sweet so if you are watching your sugar intake then you should keep this in mind.I don't think I will be buying the product again anytime soon. There is probably better non-dairy coffee creamer waiting to be discovered.

W O W ! Tastes INCREDIBLY good, MUCH better than milk!
I forgot the name of the brand when I first tasted this. I scooped up a teaspoon of this powder and my first thoughts were, this tastes amazing! Definitely better than milk! I was expecting at best a good tasting product but a mediocre after taste or a not so great taste. Then I mixed it with room temperature water and it mixes well and again incredibly good taste. For those worried about protein content please remember that muscular horses are naturally vegans so according to marketing lies they should look like scrawny thin animals and this is not so, the same goes for us humans. Plus you can mix it with cereal if you like.My reason for buying this is because I love coffee as a mid morning snack and this is going to be an EXCELLENT substitute for cream (cholesterol) or non-dairy creamers (hydrogenated oils/fats.)Hopefully this product will not be sabotaged by a fake low rating from the competitors or people not noticing this product and it not getting the buying attention it very much deserves. I've been a vegan for 17 years and I've NEVER seen such an outstanding and great tasting product that is powdered, mixes easily, is vegan, and tastes amazing. If you love this product like I do (I know you will), pass it on and lets keep the ingredients as healthy as it now is. The taste is so good I really don't think it could be improved further. Also, at first impulse I was going to buy the vanilla flavor but I read a review here that said this original version mixed better and the vanilla tasted too strong. Well now that I'e tasted this one I don't care for the vanilla flavor anymore. I guess you were right reviewer, thanks...

Great in Recipes and for Ministries
I am very pleased with Better Than Milk Rice Powder's vanilla flavor product. I originally purchased it to make animal cookies according to the recipe in Elizabeth Gordon's excellent allergen free comfort foods cookbook. Not only did the cookies turn out every bit as delicious as she suggested with exactly the right texture, but I was able to make a passable powdered cocoa mix with it. That makes it possible for me to reward my friend's son (who has multiple food allergies) for helping to shovel snow in the way that I remember fondly from my childhood, as well as enjoying a hot, sweet drink with my mother, who is lactose intolerant as well as being soy-free on doctor's orders, anywhere hot water is available. In addition, a canister now sits in the pantry at our church, where children with food allergies are often served, next to a box of Rice Chex, as a shelf-stable alternative to fill out any meal where allergy-safe options are not enough to fill sensitive little stomachs. Previously, we had had problems with cartons of rice or coconut milk going bad before being used, but with the powder we can mix up just what we need, and the vanilla flavor means children who react badly to processed sugars still find the cereal sweet enough without additional cane- or beet-sourced sugars. While, as the package says, some flakes typically clump together instead of dissolving fully unless mixed in a blender, I find this little worse than in powdered milk products and overlookable for applications like baking, cereal, and cocoa.
