The Everyday Gourmet: The Joy of Mediterranean Cooking

This is a wonderful cooking course. It comes with the DVD's and cookbook. Bill Briwa is an excellent teacher. He incorporates history and fun stories into the cooking lessons. I have learned a lot of new techniques and some healthy new recipes. I had some problems with the DVD's playing properly and contacted the company. They sent me a replacement set that they reviewed before sending. I will definitely order more of these Great Courses!

Not what i expected

No good without the 144 page guide.

I bought this DVD with guidebook through The Great Courses and have just finished watching this 3-disc series on Mediterranean cooking. The instructor takes you to many countries circling the Mediterranean Sea with several dishes comprising an entire meal or two from each country. He explains why the various regions developed their tastes and cooking methods. I thought all recipes are within reason for an average home cook. A few had an ingredient I would not normally purchase, but he offered alternatives in most cases. I learned a lot and am enthusiastically looking forward to using the recipes. Also picked up some useful kitchen tips.

Love this series by Chef Briwa! Great visuals, good commentary and demo by the Chef. He inspires me to try some new techniques and healthy dishes. Someone posted about measures of ingredients. If you purchase the course of subscribe to Great Courses Plus , you can get a transcript and that has recipes. If you are at a more experienced level, you really can just view and apply. It makes me want to go back to Italy!

Why watch this video?They don't list the ingredients. Where do I get the recipe?The chef cooks this great meal but doesn't provide how much ( quantity) of each ingredients to use.WIthout this info you are wasting your time watch it.

Love the chef, love the recipes, but too bad I can’t recreate because I don’t know how much of the ingredients to use. Seems like you get the recipe when buying the dvd, but it would be great to get these for being a Great Courses Amazon channel subscriber.
