Who Was Charles Dickens?

I am a huge Dickens fan. This was a very easy read filled with info, it was enjoyable to read with my son and interesting for both parties.

I have purchased many of the "Who Was...." series of books for my grandchildren and, for the most part, thought they were well written albeit at a preteen's level. I wish that I could say the same for "Who Was Charles Dickens" but I can't. This book was so disjointed and poorly written that I'm sure that Charles Dickens himself must be spinning in his grave. It's too bad because Dickens' biography deserves far better treatment than this sophmoric effort.

The book was very interesting to read and I learned a lot about the man. If any one who has ever read his books I believe they might like to read about him it tells a lot about why he wrote the books he did.

Great read! Interesting facts. My students will enjoy learning more about this famous author.

It was a nice and informative book. I liked to read it, but there could have been more content in the book than there was.

This series is a wonderful way for my 4th graders to learn about people in history!

This series of books is great for a taster of each famous person. Clearly written. For kids and adults alike, especially teachers like me!

I used this with my Year 4/5 class as we were learning about biographies and the Victorians. It’s a great text for this age group and older.

Bought it for a young friend in India, He loved it.
