Attwood 9082-1 Small Battery Box with Mounting Kit and Strap, Fits U1 Batteries, Black

Excellent battery box- strong, functional, even looks good. I used this to make a battery tote for my generators, so I can have the battery trickle charging inside in order to increase battery life. I connected a 10 AWG SAE cable to the battery and passed it through one of several openings in the box. Each of my generators have the same connection so I can quickly and easily hook up the generator I need to start, and take it back inside when done. I already had a nice handle with a wide, strong Velcro strap that came from a hose or something. I also ended up putting two small pieces of gorilla tape over the top vents in the box as it is already sufficiently vented otherwise, and covering them will keep the box clean and dry. Despite what some others have said, I have found the strap to be quite adequate, but I assume it makes a difference how you thread it through the buckle. Doing it the way I show it in the photos, I’ve had no trouble at all, and don’t anticipate having any.

This is a very good size box {U1} for my 12v 15ah lithium battery. It needs some reenforcing along the sides for a secure fit. The plastic material is strong and slightly flexible and the tiedown strap is very solid, 1.5 inches wide. The box is light and easy to carry. Would recommend to others.

No strap. See below first comment. I, like so many others who left reviews have gotten ZERO reponse from seller after reaching out to them. I would have given this a five star rating due to it's perfect size and quality, but the ad says it comes with a mounting kit and strap which it do not. The mounting kit was no big deal but the strap is needed and I need to find one now. I will make something work, but it should have come with everything it claimed would.

Good fit for my battery

I have an ATV and the cost of those little batteries is crazy. I wanted to use a small garden tractor battery and this is spot on. I clamped to ATV rack on back of the ATV and for half the price of those little batteries I got a lawn and garden tractor battery which is going on three years of use. The box is great. I have bought a second since this one for my go-cart.

I have a hydroponic garden with a solar area to charge a 12 V DC battery than runs a 12 V DC water pump. I need a way to secure and protect the battery when mounted to the hydroponic system. This enclosure works well for the battery I had and is made of sturdy material, It came with a nice strap and mounting hardware to secure the box to the structure. Has venting for the lead acid batter I chose. I drilled a small hole in the bottom to run the wires in and out for the battery (and to the charger and load). I am happy with this and it is doing the job of protecting the battery and also looks like a professional installation.

Seems to be well built and fits my group U1 battery just fine. With one exception, the 2 vent holes are pointing straight up in the air. So if it’s being mounted on something that’s going to be exposed to the elements the box is going to fill up with water. You could just drill a couple small drain holes in the bottom of the box but regardless I don’t want the battery and the terminals constantly getting wet. I cut out 2 thin pieces of plastic from a container and epoxied them in the underside of the cover then floated epoxy on the top side inside the vent grille holes. In my opinion the box has plenty of ventilation from the 8 bump out reliefs where the battery cable would go into the box. If your mounting it under a hood or out of the elements the vents shouldn’t be an issue. I’m mounting mine in the bed of a service truck for the electric start on my air compressor so it’s always going to be outside and the original design wasn’t going to work for me. Besides that it’s well built and should hopefully serve me well for years to come.

I got this so that I can upgrade the electronic braking on a cargo trailer as well as have battery capacity for an electronic tongue jack. In order to do that I needed a larger battery and therefore a larger battery box. This is a very sturdy box and was easy to mount to the frame of my trailer. The lid is super sturdy as well as the strap that holds the lid down. No worries with this going down the road, didn’t budge at all. For anybody that needs to upgrade a battery box this is the box to go with.

If you are expecting a complete battery box, complete with lid and strap as shown in the product images DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM. I have received 2 items now both just the box with no lid or strap. False advertising and over priced for half the item l

Tell you what this thing is of great quality and the price was amazing even though after getting it I wont need it Im keeping it just because of the quality , I will have to find some where else to use it
