Ring Smart Lighting – Floodlight, Battery-Powered, Outdoor Motion-Sensor Security Light, Black (Bridge required)

Edit UpdateAfter I posted this review. I was contacted by Ring. They wanted see what they could do to help with my problem. I asked to return the light and they agreed. I really like Ring products and love the customer service. All of my other lights and cameras from Ring work really well. Thank you RingHave had great luck with Ring products in the past. Needed a spot light in my yard that I didn't have an outlet. So I decided to try this light because its a Ring product. That was a mistake! You can see its on but you cant see anything else. I like this floodlight but it is not that bright but bright enough for my needs but I don't like that the batteries don't last long enough and even if I turn it off and don't use it for a little while the battery still drains and dies, I was testing that option. And batteries aren't cheap either. Also it seems that as the batteries are dying the light starts to flickers and the light is dimmer don't know if that's normal. Wish Amazon would make a compatible Solar Panel for this item then it would be perfect. 1st. Picture light is on level 3, 2nd. Picture light is on level 10 the highest level of light. Put on new batteries on 11/15/19 and today is 12/8/19 and the last picture shows you the life of the battery set at level 3. This is the 2nd. time I installed new batteries. If it wasn't because of the battery I would have given it 5 Stars and would like the item even more. And there ain't that much motion there either because it's on the side of the house where there isn't really any motion mostly only when I go out or outside to smoke a cigarette which isn't that often.Update:12/15/19 After writing the review above I was contacted by e-mailed from Daniel associated with Ring.com to set up an phone appointment so I did and to my surprise Daniel did contact me on time @ at the date and time that I chose. He was answering my concerns about the battery floodlight he was very helpful to me with some insights about the battery floodlight use. He is sending me another battery floodlight to be sent to me as soon as possible. Good customer service. Daniel said I can contact him with any other questions or concerns. I really appreciate that someone read the review and address my concerns. Daniel was also very understanding and a pleasant friendly person to speak to. Thank you very much Amazon and Daniel from the Ring.com Team, You always seem to amaze me with all the ways you improve to help your customers. This update is a few days late but it was important to update. So I'm changing my 3 star review to a 5 star review on my own insights, no one asked me to change it. It's the right thing to do.

UPDATE---Ring reached out to me and apologized for the defective equipment. Apparently every device is tested for waterproofing, and there was something wrong with mine. He sent out a new upgraded model, and we are very pleased with the new light that is working just fine. Changing my 1 star review to 4 stars because of the great customer service and backing of the product. However, keeping it at 4 because of the first defective light.--------------ORIGINAL REVIEW----We bought the ring light/sensor in November and followed the instructions perfectly for instatllation. We have loved having this light for extra security and safety, especially for my wife who gets home from working in the hospital in the middle of the night.The batteries lasted longer than expected, and we were very happy with our purchase.However, last month the sensor stopped working completely.We changed the batteries and still no response.After close inspection, the sensor itself was full of water and we cannot get it to drain.It seems like a manufacturing issue, and is not something we can fix.Has anyone else had this problem happen? I'm assuming that this is not designed to self destroy within 6 months. Wishing amazon had a better return policy for defective products.

I purchased for more noticeable light in driveway. I have porch lights on both sides of garage but I wanted a brighter light to kick on that draws attention if anyone walks up driveway. Installing was easy, batteries so far do last pretty well. I would say that light kicks on maybe 4 or 5x a night and I have set for 30 secs when triggered, been up for past 2 weeks and battery is still above 90% with cheap batteries, rayovac. I like that you can adjust brightness of light when bridged thru ring app. You also have options for adding a schedule, I did have issues with that, it's worded just opposite as the ring camera schedule so its confusing. I finally just set up light to come on when driveway camera detects motion at night and also turn off notifications for light, if not it will drive you crazy. With battery lastingbas long as it has, will be purchasing 2 more for both sides of house for peace of mind.

The light was very easy to set up and install. It is not as bright as I was hoping and I feel the plastic was not as sturdy to hold up to a long time in the sun. Otherwise great purchase will replace once it stops working.
