This heritage watch is inspired by a timepiece that was in the Tissot collection in 1943, aimed at men in the cities and very sought after due to its pure elegance.

Tissot Mens Heritage: A Timepiece with true Heritage
It's been approximately a year since I acquired the Tissot Mens Heritage, and I couldn't be more pleased with my choice. This Swiss watch embodies the essence of tradition, being a commemorative edition for the prestigious Tissot brand's 165 years. Tissot's rich history and its exceptional value for money make this watch an unparalleled acquisition. One of the standout features of this timepiece is its reliable ETA/Unitas 6498 movement, a classic among classics and virtually indestructible. This mechanism not only ensures outstanding performance but also adds a touch of exclusivity, being used by brands considered more "premium." The inherent durability of this movement suggests that this watch could become a legacy that transcends generations, possibly being passed down to your grandchildren and, in turn, to theirs.Regarding the design, the steel 42mm case has an overall appeal, although the 20mm lugs might feel slightly small in proportion. However, this minor observation doesn't diminish the overall elegance of the watch. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would give it a solid 4, highlighting the visual harmony and quality of construction expected from a watch from Tissot. The dial is undoubtedly a work of art. The combination of the white champagne background with black hands and numbers evokes the classic aesthetics of bygone eras. This timeless design adds a touch of distinction and sophistication, turning every glance at the watch into a unique visual experience. In summary, the Tissot Mens Heritage is not just a testament to Swiss craftsmanship in watchmaking but also a tribute to Tissot's long history. With a reliable movement, charming design, and the promise of enduring over time, this watch stands out as an investment beyond current fashion trends, becoming a treasure that transcends generations.

Get one while you can
What a great deal, 165th Anniversary Special Edition from Tissot. It's a classic watch, just what I've been looking for. I love the vintage look without the delicate and precious nature of an actual vintage piece. That and the size is more modern, I know it's on the large size for what is essentially a dress watch but look at IWC, their 42 mm watches are 3mm thicker than this. I personally just had to buy it when I saw it, it's perfect and it's over 10 times less expensive than some others I was shopping. I had to put aside my bias against the low price and just get it. I think I enjoy this more than I would an IWC or JLC because it's not so serious (for me that's serious money) and doesn't seem like such a frivolous expenditure. Tissot is a solid company that's been making watches for a long time now and has many beautiful designs. I've often considered what a value they are and simultaneously been put off by the low price and amazed at the value. They get a lot of leverage being a sister company with ETA as part of the Swatch group. I know the watch lists at $1500 on the Tissot website but with the Heritage Petite Seconde the value is amazing considering the perfection of the quality, it seems effortless to them to supply a perfectly flawless object (the quality is good). It's been a few years since I've worn a large watch, I've been wearing 40mm or less lately so it took a few days for my senses to adjust, now my others seem small..so there's that. I have a 7.25 inch wrist and this sits comfortably partly due to it's modest thickness at around 11mm and part of that is the domed sapphire. The ETA 6498-1 elabore inside is nicely decorated and certainly fits the style of the watch. It's great to be able to see it through the generous opening in the transparent caseback with it's big balance wheel lazily swinging back and forth at 18000 bph. I personally love that there's no date window and no lume on the dial, just pure simplicity that you can't really find without paying much much more. The leather strap it comes with is very high quality, well the strap anyway, the deployant clasp is too fiddly for me. I swapped it out immediately with a black crocodile strap I had sitting in the drawer and it looks amazing. The dial is a warm champagne color and nicely reflects diffuse colors from your surroundings. Also the black hands are brass underneath and reflect a warm glow onto the dial in bright light. Mine is very accurate, it got tossed around in the box pretty good during shipping so the Incabloc may have been canted the first day or something because its timing did vary more than I expected at first (+7 seconds in 24 hours). Since I've been wearing it for the last two weeks or so it's settled down to a maximum range of -2/+4, I think the elabore is adjusted to 3 positions and seems to be pretty spot on. I know the specs for this movement have a much wider expected range but my experience with ETA is that they are always much more accurate than they allow. It's hard to appreciate in pictures, wide angle lenses and bright lights cause distortions that you wouldn't really see with your own eyes but I'll attach a few pictures. So in essence, if you want a vintage Swiss watch that you don't have to worry about getting wet pick up one of these.

Mechanical
This isn’t a watch i would have purchased except that mechanicals aren’t so easy to find, lots of automatics not so many mechanicals. Well made and i enjoy seeing the back of the dial with all the gears!
