THE MESH IS BUTTER THAN CLEAR PLASTIC
THE MESH IS MUCH BETTER THAN THE CLEAR PLASTIC. I HAVE A HARD HAT WITH CLEAR PLASTIC FACE SHIELD AND EAR PROTECTORS ATTACHED THAT I USE WITH MY CHAIN SAW. AFTER 5 MINUETS OF HARD CHAIN SAW WORK MY FACE SHIELD WOULD FOG UP SO I HAD TO LEAVE IT IN THE FLIPPED UP POSSITION SO THAT I COULD SEE WHAT I WAS DOING. THEN WHEN I GET IN CERTAIN POSTIONS THE SAWDUST COMES FLYING INTO MY FACE. ALSO JUST MOVING ARROUND THE DOWNED TREE THE BRANCHES ARE SMACKING ME IN THE FACE. SO AFTER 5 MINUETS IT GAVE ME NO PROTECTION. I REPLACED THE CLEAR PLASTIC WITH THIS MESH SHIELD AND IT WORKS GREAT - NO MORE FOGGING UP. I CAN LEAVE IT DOWN FOR 1 TO 2 HOURS OR AS LONG AS I CAN LAST WORKING WITH A CHAIN SAW. A 100% IMPROVEMENT. I WAS CONCERNED THAT THE VISABILITY WOULD BE POOR BUT THE VISABILITY THROUGH THE MESH IS VERY GOOD. I HAD TO ELONGGATE 2 OF THE MOUNTING HOLES WITH A 1/4" ROUND FILE - TO FIT MY HELMET - BUT THAT WAS ONLY A 10 MINUET DELAY. IT'S RECOMENDED THAT YOU WEARE SAFETY GLASSES OR GOGGLES UNDER THE MESH FACE SHIELD TO PROTECT YOUR EYES FROM LIQUIDS OR FINE DUST THAT MIGHT COME THROUGH THE MESH SHIELD. WORKING IN THE WOODS I AM NOT CONCERNED WITH LIQUIDS SO I DON'T USED GOGGLES. I USE SAFETY GLASSES.

Does not come with a headband!
The mask is great. Inexpensive and durable. One thing they don't tell you is that it does not come with a head band. Fortunately, I had an old hardhat that it fit. Byers be aware.

Replacement for Husqvarna ProForest Chain Saw Helmet System (with simple modifications)
History: My Husqvarna helmet is from 2015; gets used quarterly for random chainsaw project (primarily tree clearing). The mesh started to rust, and there were some holes developing (see pic).Summary Modification: In order for this to work, the mounting holes need to be elongated.Modification Details:1) I found the best way to transfer the location of the holes is to clamp the two shields together with three clamps2) After marking the holes with a Sharpie pen, I drilled a hole for the end point3) Then used diagonal cutters to cut out the remaining material.4) After initial fit up, by locking in one side, and then stretching the shield into place, I found that the holes needed to be elongated by another 1/8".5) After it appeared the slots were in correct place, I snapped the center in.6) Then I found that there are additional clip in points near the hinge side; once they were clipped in, the shield was locked into place snugly.Other Details:A) Mesh Size: Original Husqvarna was 3/32" squares, Replacement is 1/16" (2/32").Husqvarna ProForest Chain Saw Helmet Systemhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0030MIHBY

Great product
This face protector is great. One can see and still be protected from flying debris. Mating the mask to the headpiece was a challenge. None of the attachment holes lined up and required change. However, it would have been a great asset if #1 the face mask mesh had been installed at the factory or #2 there were directions for the installation included. I am glad I finally recognized what needed to be done to make the two fit together. If it doesn't cost too much the proper screwdrive might be included as well for those without a set of the ultra small screwdrivers. Even with this frustration the mask is well worth the tiime and money.

Works but limits options
I bought this because I put a lot of hours on my chainsaw and string trimmer. I get very hot (over heat) during the summer especially wearing safety gear to run a saw or string trimmer. I thought this would be great since it wouldn't fog up or get dripping wet like my safety glasses and let a breeze through. It is a bit flimsy and I found the coverage to be a bit awkward. It seems to get in the way and not provide the protection you might expect. The biggest mistake I made is I cannot use my ear muff hearing protection and have to revert to ear plugs. There is no way to let the muffs go over the strap. I prefer muffs for safety as I often need to be able to hear someone and taking plugs in and out gets old. Back to safety glasses and ear muffs for me. Hope this helps you decide.

Needed two more holes to fit my helmet.
This seems well made. It has several different hole patterns. I drilled an extra hole either side to fit my Stihl (by Peltor) helmet. Has worked well so far.
