Das Buch macht mir sehr viel Freude und gibt einen guten Überblick über die 1950er. Auch werden einzelne Designer vorgestellt, was das Verständnis für die Form nochmal erhöht.

この本では、ミッドセンチュリー前史と、イームズ・ネルソンといったミッドセンチュリー期のデザイナーが解説され、その流れに沿って家具の写真がコメントつきで掲載されています。ヨーロッパ・北欧の扱いはやや小さいです。まず、ミッドセンチュリーを解説するという本のコンセプトからして、インテリア作りの参考にはあまりなりません。さらに、家具の紹介に関しても、白黒の写真や、昔のものであるために鮮明でない写真が多く、図鑑といった雰囲気です。カラフルで色鮮やかでポップな家具が網羅的に紹介されているカタログ、といったものを期待している人は他をあたった方が良いでしょう。ただ、持っていて損はないので星三つにしておきます。
