Well worth the wait .A book full of information on the R230SL SLK. to call Bernd Koehling a master of his craft is an understatement . He digs deep into the archives of Mercedes-Benz to write books that contain all the information on each model any person wanting aclassic to modern Mercedes-Benz would want to know. Plus you can get his E Books to take with you with out fumbling with the hard copies that you can leave at your library. I have both. I am very very satisfied with all his publications. he truly is a master author and I highly recommend him even my white German Shepard like his books LOL 10 stars Mr Koelhing you out done your self againSincerelyBob Geco

This book is well written and provides a lot of useful technical information. It is quite understandable and provides useful historical information as well for the average guy that is not an automotive engineer.

I am very happy that I purchased this book. The author's style is very enjoyable, and his research was extensive. There are many beautiful color photos, production statistics, a list of model year differences, as well as coverage of unique SLKs, and more.As an employee of Mercedes-Benz USA for the past 37 years, even I learned a few things! :)I would definitely order another book from this author (I think I will go with the one on the R230 SL series next).

Awesome detailed book with so much info highly recommended for owners and collectors

This is a very detailed and well written record of the R170 Mercedes SLK. Lots of good photos, lots of stats, easy to read. I highly recommend it!

Well researched book with up to date information on the SLK R170 model for any SLK owner.

The author knows his Mercedes, and the R170 SLK despite its pocket size, is a true Mercedes. The book is well written and only drops into tables of data infrequently. There is true enthusiasm for the car and for sharing those details, and it is not written like a report on the car. Worth adding to any R170 owners library, or even if you are a fan of the Mercedes brand.

I've had my SLK320 for nearly 16 years and have always wanted to know more about its design background and history. This book answers all the questions and is a nice easy read striking a balance between technical and understandable! A brilliant reference section will have me dissecting the VIN number soon as I get home.

Was looking for a book on the original SLK and this seems to be the only one available.However, this book does not disappoint at all.It’s full of useful information.
