Much less vibration
My review is from the perspective of replacing my PC 5" random orbit sander (382). It still works and does a good job. But I was looking for a new sander because the vibration from the PC was causing my hands to go numb fairly quickly. They would feel like pin pricks for 30 minutes after sanding. Mission accomplished. This sander greatly reduces the amount of vibration. A bonus is that it appears to be much faster removing material as well. It leaves a very nice finish.I would give it 5 stars but I am not impressed with the dust collection. 2 reasons. 1 - it does not collect dust that well. Dust seems to collect under the sand paper. Sanding screens are better but still more dust than expected left behind. 2 - I have yet to find the right adapter to connect this to my dust collection system. I've been using tape to make and seal the connection and need to spend the time to find the right connection fitting. For clarity I am using this with my dust collection system not a shop vac. Perhaps a shop vac would do better as the air velocity is higher. One last point is this has an on/off switch besides the paddle which is nice as it lets you turn it off to change grits without triggering the sander.I did look at Festool and Mirka but picked this as it seemed so similar at half the price. All that said I'm glad I bought it.

Amazing sander!
I have a mobile auto body and paint repair shop for cosmetic damages. I use no air tools as carrying a compressor that is suitable to run them is too large for my van. After 8 years of using a dewalt sander, and researching other sanders I finally decided to pull the trigger and try this out. The price tag caused lots of hesitation but compared to the $600 mirka this seemed like a better option. I wish I bought this sander 7 years ago! Used it for the first time and it is better in every way by orders of magnitude. I went with the 3/16 throw. Cuts through material in a fraction of the time. It’s smooth, ergonomic, quiet, and as low profile as a good air palm sander. I love every bit of it. I’ll see how it holds up long term, if it lasts I guarantee I’ll be purchasing the 3/32 version for my finish sanding.

Clone of high end sanders. Performs very well, major upgrade from big box store sanders.
I bought this sander as a substitute for a Mirka sander. My review will be based on using a Mirka and using a an off the shelf sander. Since it’s priced at the upper end it should be compare to high end sanders.I have owned festool and Mirka. Mirka is my choice of those 2. Mirka is almost double the cost of this sander so I thought I would give this a try.Pros. Very smooth. Removes stock fast. Quiet.Cons. Pad has a poor punch design and sandpaper dosent hit many of the holes so the dust collection is not amazing.Extended used it will get hot.The sander is very smooth. It can be a bit jerky when running a heavy grit paper. One thing the Mirka beats this sander at. Mirka is smooth no matter what. The sander removes materials quickly and will run any off the shelf big box store sanders into the ground.Seriously if you are doing a lot of sanding with a random orbit from Home Depot or Lowe’s this sander will be a game changer. If you run it hard it gets very hot. My guys sand cabinets 8hrs a day and this and the dust collection was their only complaint. If you want great features like a Mirka but can’t quite afford a high end sander this is for you. Its very fast, smooth and, cleans up boards fast.If you are able to get the Mirka know that the major difference is a Mirkas touch more powerful, will be a bit smoother. Stays cool even when running all day. Dust collection is superb.

Fast and lightweight
This sander is very versatile with speed control. Use it daily to sand boats for my business. The only weakness is the trigger. While the sander itself has much more life when the trigger fails I just buy another one. I haven’t contacted the company to see if parts are available but when I get a stack of them I will before throwing them out. Still a great sander, I’ve bought the best in the business and this one is every bit as good as any of them.

Good product
It has become my favorite sander. Only complaint is the jump in speed from one gear (setting) to the next. It has alot of top end speed, but not so much mid range. Throttle control, via the paddle, could be better, to combat the gearing issue. That being said, I do love it. I just hope it lasts!

Great sander for half the price...
Great sander. Good dust extraction. Easy to use. No annoying external power inverter needed. This is a very good sander and for half the price of a Mirka. Mirka makes great sanders, but this one is very good too for way less money. I wish it would run up to about 12,000 rpms though. The 10,000 that is advertised is just a little under-powered in my opinion. Overall this is a great sander. I think it is the exact same sander as a SurfPrep. I would reccomend getting the vacuum version to save your lungs. After using air and electric sanders for over 25 years, I wish they all would have had dust extraction systems. It's nice to not have to breath in the dust and it keeps your workshop much cleaner as well. Save yourself some money and buy this sander.

Good performance, good ergonomics, low vibration
This is the best sander I've ever used and as far as I can tell it's a clone of the Mirka DEROS. I was between this and a Festool brushless sander. After the first few hours I'm glad I spent the money. I like it better than the ETS 125 or the Rotex. This model seems to be built for a Festool dust extractor. The green hose threads into the swivel fitting, but I did have to remove the rubber fitting at the end of the hose. The included clips also nicely fit over the stock Festool hose. It did not work well at all with a Fein Turbo extractor.I've tried this with Diablo Sandnet and 3M Cubitron abrasive and they both provide excellent dust collection.

Needs central vacuum
This is a good sander, though I preferred the larger, two-hand handles of my Bosch which died. This is one-handed operation. You DO need a central vacuum, or you will get dust all over. And I have not figured out any sort of small dust bag.
