Review: How to help your young reader fall in love with the Bible - Our 6 year old can tell you at least 15 'stickers' which are paraphrases of Bible verses. She just loves to pick up her honeyword and read both the engaging articles on key texts and the actual New Living Translation text itself. This Bible is a breakthrough for parents who want their young readers to fall in love with Bible reading all by themselves. We bought her this Bible as part of her Christmas present and she is about half way through Deuteronomy - she insisted on starting at the beginning! Amazingly she gets it! How cool is that. The only down side is that the articles are totally American which means that some of the language for British children is meaningless, we skip those articles which just can't be translated into UK English. Review: After reading "Moonwalking with Einstein", I wanted to find a way to translate the lessons of memory retention to the bible. I had seen a copy of this bible in a hotel many moons ago and remembered the cool way it uses symbols to help kids retain the stories of the bible. I am such a huge fan of this! Emmet Cooper got it right and has compiled stories to go alongside the bible's stories that will help kids to retain the information read to them. I can only find this book in used format since it appears to be out of print, but in any case, I've successfully purchased a number of them in almost brand new condition and am so happy I did. Happy bible reading to you!

I had been looking for a Bible for my five year-old that would be engaging and present God's word in a fun way. I also wanted him to learn things in a way that would "stick." This bible does just that. Each book of the bible is presented with a character that sounds like the actual book to help children remember it well. There are verses that are highlighted throughout the bible that are key to the message of the book. So far, we love it and my little boy has already learned a great deal. I recommend this bible for anyone who is looking for a way to teach their children to hide God's Word in their hearts.

The Honeyword Bible is given a 'light' touch using the New Living Translation. Humorous caricatures are interspersed to describe the Books of the Bible and certain terms or phrases as they appear in a passage. I bought quite a number to give as gifts for adults - two of whom teach Sunday School and young adults. I can recommend this edition for those who want a 'readable' Bible. The size of the print is appropriate for a child's use or an adult with vision problems.
