Absolutely perfect!! Zero frustration or concerns!!
Absolutely perfect!! Loved it! Durable, easy to 'pop-up' and 'flatten'. Very large, but still fit in the back of a standard sized SUV while the crate was fully set up. Very nice!! Heavy duty but cozy. Plenty of room for an extra large dog bed plus plenty of space to add food & water bowls and still have room to navigate. This product really came in clutch and my pup was right at home in his 'portable casa'. Thank you!! :)

Great for cat car travel, outstanding quality, be sure and choose the right size for your needs!
We have purchased two of these - the 36" and 26" for transporting our cats on longer car trips to the WSU vet hospital. I would first say that the quality of the carriers is exceptional, and nicer than other brands at twice the price. One of the vets at the hospital asked us about the carrier and said he was going to get the same one (26") for his small dog. Neither of our traveling cats are natural travelers, so we wanted room for them to be comfortable. We purchased the 36" carrier first, wanting maximum space for a bed, small litter box and food for comfy and complete travel needs. It is HUGE for one cat. Look carefully at the overall dimensions to see how big it is and the overall volume (also see photos for comparison). The 36" size is not easy to carry with a passenger, although the shoulder strap helps. Because it is a soft carrier, any creature bigger than about a 15lb cat will make it doubly difficult. Small suitcase style roller wheels would be a wonderful addition. We made a second purchase of the 26" carrier when we needed to transport 2 cats and weren't sure if they would enjoy the togetherness of many hours in the car. The 26" carrier has room for a small pet bed at the back and a bit of space left in front. Space for a pet bed made a big difference in travel comfort. It was easy to carry into the vets, taking center of gravity into account. It also has a pouch, sized smaller that the 36" carrier. Will add photo on update of this review. I have attached photos of the two carriers side by side to compare the volumes. Ten inches does not sound like a tremendous size difference, but the 36" carrier is probably double the volume of the 26" carrier. We have a mid-size SUV, and needed to drop the back seats to fit both. Sde by side, the two carriers filled the cargo space width. Which carrier did the cats prefer? Our alpha cat is not a great traveler, and does not like to see the scenery going by at 70mph, so he did not appreciate the great view through mesh panels on all four sides of the big carrier. (Or rumble strips on the road. Or my husband's driving, apparently.) On both trips, he began yowling very insistently at the scary view out the front and back, and we ending up throwing a dark cover over the sides and back so it was more like a safe, dark cat cave. This worked so well I plan on sewing a permanent four-sided cover that can travel in the zipper pouch (which, by the way, is also great for carrying food, harness, leash, and a bit of water, but must be flipped up to access the door easily). Our second cat was fine in the smaller carrier, and I have come to firmly believe that cats prefer smaller, safer cave-like spaces. We ended up in a hotel room with one of the cats for 4 nights pre- and post- surgery, and he regularly went inside the 26" carrier to sleep in his bed. It was also not hard to put him in there when he was a bit reluctant. The door is big enough that a cat can't do a giant 4-way leg spread extravaganza to resist being shoved inside. Both carriers are highly recommended for longer car trips and for times when you need to restrict your cats activity level for awhile. Just make sure to consider the comparative sizes. For our cats, I would not go smaller than 26" for longer car trips. We do have smaller under seat size carriers that we use for local vet trips - these might be overkill for that.

Great Product and Great Value!
Very well made, sturdy, great side compartments, and appearance is outstanding. Dogs love the comfortable flooring and the ease of expanding and storage is much appreciated.

Very large, nice for travel
I bought the 36 grey version. My dog is about 30lbs but is a mix/rescue and has rather unusual proportions, with long legs and long body for her weight. I had a VERY hard time figuring out which size to get for her, since I could't tell at what points the measurements on the listing were taken (inside? outside?) and in photos from other buyers I had trouble figuring out the size of their dog and how their dog's proportions compared to mine. So I stayed on the safe side and went with the 36'. This one is... very large. Way bigger than I needed, which is okay and we'll still use it, but wasn't really what I was looking for. For anyone wondering, I'm a large adult and I am able to comfortably sit inside the crate. It measures around 35.5" length inside and 37" length outside, 24" wide inside and outside, and 23" high inside and 24" high outside. It has one entrance/exit which is 16" tall x 18.5" wide. The other thing I will note is that it is fairly difficult to set up and take down, more effort than I would have liked. You have to unfold it, then sort of prop the lid up and unzip the top, then wrestle one of the frame bars into the other side of the fabric, then get the bars that hold the crate up to slide into place, which is a bit difficult to do, since there are these little grippers and you have to line them up, push them in CAREFULLY, then slide the rest of the way on each side to finish the set-up. It's a moderately physical task when doing it alone, which I just want to note especially for someone with a disability (like, if you were in a wheelchair, or only had use of one hand, or even just have weak/arthritic hands), this would be pretty hard to set up and break down. It's especially daunting because I've had a similar travel crate before, and I accidentally snapped the plastic frame just setting it up, so handling these things requires a rather unnerving combination of care and strength. I don't think the set-up should put anyone off, though. That's generally just part of the deal with crates, especially travel specific ones. Overall I really like this. Once it's set up it's sturdy, it comes with a removable dog bed in the bottom, has a failsafe at the top of the zipper so you can clip the zippers into it (so your dog can't scratch at the seam to open the door), and has 2 bags to store things in (one large and detachable and the other attached). The absolute best thing about it, though, is the convenience for traveling. It's very lightweight (I can easily carry it with one hand) and once you manage to collapse it, it folds up nicely and has multiple straps and clips to carry it with. I actually like it enough that I decided to go ahead and buy the smaller crate as well (the size 30), which I hope will be a better size for my dog, and I'm planning on using one as her permanent crate and the second as her travel crate. I'll come back and update my review if one of them breaks or anything goes awry, but it seems like they're high quality and should last a while, as long as I manage not to break anything setting them up/taking them down.

I like this better than the regular Amazon one!
Amazon no longer sell this particular model new, (only used). They only sell a basic one with no extras for the same price. I bought this used like new because I like having all the extras. This travel dog crate is perfect. It well built, easy to assemble and pull down to transport. It comes with a crate mat, a padded shoulder strap to use when the crate is assembled as well as a padded hand carry strap. It also has 2 removeable zipper pouches for snacks etc… and a water bottle slot and tiny pouch with window to put pet info inside. When closed for transport it has a hand carry strap and buckle closure to hold it together. This one when compared to the basic Amazon one being sold is imo better made (I’ve seen both) and comes with extras. I like this carrier as it’s easier to break down and assemble when traveling and much lighter and easier to travel with than my dogs wire crate. If your dog is not crate trained or a chewer this is not for you. My dog loves this crate and is secure in it as the zippers lock. Two things I would change if I could (not a deal breaker). Amazon should have made extra loops on the carrier so that you could carry the crate on your shoulder when it’s folded up so you can hand carry or shoulder carry. Sometimes ur hands are full so carrying on the shoulder would be convenient. I’m gonna try to figure out a way to use the strap to shoulder carry when the crate is folded. Amazon should also use something other than regular rubber bands to hold the support arms in place when folded up. Over time that’s gonna break from continuous use. When it does I will just use Velcro ties to hold the arms. I am very impressed with buying used like new from Amazon at a cheaper price. The box was not perfect and delivery took forever (it was late) but all the contents were really like new, in good working order and it wasn’t missing any parts- I even got the instruction booklet.

Dog loves it! And so does my back!
My dog is picky. She knows what she likes. We were finally able to crate train her so that she now enjoys hanging out in her crate with the door open while we are home. Safe haven? Maybe. Anyways, I was tired of collapsing that big heavy metal crate and carrying it to the car and then in and out of dog training. Seriously, those suckers are heavy. Then I saw this nice folding lightweight one with fabric sides. Um, fabric? Does that mean she can chew her way out when she gets mad at us? Not yet (knock on wood), it does seem like it might take some creativity on her part to get hold of the fabric since it is so tight, but if you have a neurotic chewer this might be a bad choice. She likes it way more than her old clunky metal crate! She is in it almost constantly! We did add her big plushy bed for extra comfort when at home. It is so light! It is so easy to collapse, no more pinched fingers, it is fast, it only takes one person, carrying it with the handle or strap is easy! So many pros! Plus, it has a sun roof! We can leave it open so we can easily pet the baby. (She hasnt decided to jump up and out of it yet.) I do think she prefers this one over the metal because it provides her a little more privacy, this also means we stopped using a blanket over the kennel to keep her calm. I was worried it would be warmer at the dog shows, but we also use a portable fan. I know this is not a car safe kennel, but I do feel it is much safer than the metal kennel when transporting her in it as it does not collapse with impact like the metal one can. I also think the softer sides wouldnt harm her as much. (I dont get in many car accidents, so I cannot back this up with proof and I dont plan on testing my theory.) You will love this kennel and I hope your fur baby does too.

Looks great, poor design on the inside that makes it potentially dangerous.
After doing a ton of research on some of the best travel/portable crates, we decided to go with the AmazonBasics Premium Pet Kennel. The price was great for the size, and it had great reviews. We have an 8 month old puppy who we have crate trained since we got him, and he's never had issues in his hard wire crate. We leave him in his crate with a blanket and usually a toy or two, but he has never torn anything up. My initial impression of the crate was great. It is light, felt durable and sturdy, and looked really attractive. We got the grey color and it really looks nice. We had a couple of good training sessions with the new crate, and our pup took to it immediately. Our one area of concern was that the stitching where the mesh comes together with the fabric inside was left unfinished and was exposed. What this meant for our pup, was that he had something to chew on from the walls of the inside of the crate. We did our best to train this out of him, but ultimately, we had to use some duck tape to cover the seam on the inside because our pup wouldn't leave it alone. Why Amazon decided to leave this area uncovered, I will never understand. One evening, we left our pup in his new crate (like we have dozens of times) while we went out for dinner. When we got home, we found the crate had been torn through from the inside where the mesh attaches to the fabric. Our pup had chewed through from where the mesh was left exposed and gotten enough of it in his mouth so that he was able to create a hole. He jumped out and escaped. Luckily, he did not hurt himself or ingest any of the mesh or fabric, but this could potentially be dangerous for pups who eat what they tear up. If Amazon had just closed the seams and covered up the extra mesh where the materials connect, there would be no area for the pup to chew on. This is a design flaw that could be dangerous, especially for smaller dogs. I'm not sure if Amazon sells replacement covers, because the structure of the crate is solid. I like the design. It folds up easily and is MUCH easier to carry around than our heavy hard wire crate. But at the end of the day, our pup's safety is paramount. I did not bother contacting Amazon Customer Service because I doubt they'd be able to help us with this purchase/problem, but if we were able to get a replacement or repair, I would make sure I covered all the seals so there was nothing for the pup to grab onto. If that was done, I would likely give this 5/5 stars. Read other reviews and you'll find others who had complaints about the weak mesh being a point of failure.

Must Read - 100% Effective
Before we adopted our 40 day beagle, I read various forums and articles on crate training dogs. Ever since then I wanted to get a crate for my pup so that - he could have his personal space and spend time in there whenever he wanted to, drive safely in the car in his crate and for house training. Also, I did a lot of research before I bought this amazing crate. The crate arrived in perfect condition and can easily be cleaned. There are 2 pockets in which you can keep his leashes, collar, harness, meds. Also, there is a card holder space at the back of the crate where I have put my business/contact card. You can open the crate from the top and front both and it is very airy, hence you pooch will have proper ventilation in there. Due to covid especially our vet did not allow letting our pup on the ground and hence the crate was very useful, since our beagle is very energetic and does not wanted to be held in our arms at all times (gets annoyed easily). Also, our 3 month old loves his crate and sleeps in it all day long. For those who have a beagle sized puppy, feel free to order this size crate it will definitely work to your advantage up until he grows much bigger (I think that would be post 7-8 months of age, not sure coz then you will have to replace the crate with a bigger one).

Buen producto buen precio
