I bought this mold for soap making. It's adorable but it's very difficult to remove from the mold without breaking off her tail. Best used with cement or resin creations.

I haven’t made the final project yet, but my first go around, I used cocoa powder to make the fondant more lifelike, it came out wonderfully! But, a few things, make sure you REALLY push the fondant in at the tail portion, or you get one fin, like I did! Putting powdered sugar in the mold first was a fantastic tip I got and made it much easier to take the fondant out! Definitely recommend if you want a professional looking mold on top of your cake, but don’t want to dish out a bunch of money at a professional bakery.

Tail wants to break off when you unmold. But if you can manage to get it out whole, its absolutely beautiful! Shipped quick and it was exactly what I was expecting!

The finished form is cute with lots of details. Directions, especially re: unmolding to avoid breaking, would have helped. Still experimenting!

I had a one year old party for twin girls and it was a mermaid theme. They are just adorable and everyone loved them. when you pack the mold with gumpaste or fondant put it in the freezer for about 5-10 minutes to get it hard. It will come out of the mold very easily. The fondant will be a little sticky when it starts to defrost but just leave it for a bit and it dries out. I love this mold and will use it again and again.

Ordered her for a birthday cake she turns out really cute simple to use I put her in the refrigerator for about an hour and popped her out of the mold what she firmed up she turns out very nicely very happy with it
