New Alaska Ulu Chopping Bowl Board (Medium 7.3" - Use for 6" ulu Blade)

I gifted this to a friend and now I’m buying one for myself.

This was to be a gift for a person who has always been there for me when times were good.After a "What Was I Thinking?" moment, I kept it for myself.It arrives unoiled so you will want to get some proper Butcher Block Oil (Google it.) to treat the wood before using it. This removes any traces of wood dust from the manufacturing process and seals pores in the wood. I already own a larger one that has become a permanent fixture in the kitchen. Especially good for chopping onions and garlic, it keeps the work area neat and orderly. You need one if you prepare your own meals or know someone cool who does.

It fits my UlU blade perfectly

I was very happy to find this chopping bowl in the size I needed to go with a ulu blade I already had. It is hard to find the items sold separately. The quality was so good, I gave it a rub down with food grade mineral oil and hung it up in my kitchen so it is convenient to use and pretty to look at too.

This chopping bowl is the perfect companion for the ulu. I have not used my ulu much simply because it has limited utility on a flat board. The bowl shape of this chopping surface makes the knife much more utilitarian.

I have had one of these for about a year,I got this for my daughter, She Loves it as well.

I got this to replace one I'd had for about 10 years. Love it.
