Typical Woodpeckers Winner
I’m a Woodpeckers fan, make no mistake. I own many of their products and have yet to be disappointed. No exception here. This is a very substantial and stable fence that does exactly what they said it would do. Mine is mounted to a Woodpeckers drill press table which, in turn, is mounted to a Jet JDP17 drill press. It’s a rock for workpieces on edge and I highly recommend it.I have read the reviews stating that the drill press’s spindle advance handles can come in contact with the fence adjustment knobs. Although this is true, I fail to see a circumstance where this would functionally happen. If you look at the pics, there is no circumstance where simple thoughtful set up would not allow you to lower the table and take advantage of the drill press’s full spindle travel. Now I WAS wrong once, back in ‘84 if memory serves, but if the fence is in the way, switching back to the shorter fence for Woodpeckers folks or adjusting the table to a lower position should work without fail. (Queue the guy who will try to find a way to prove me wrong…) Check out the pics, they never lie. Hope I helped some folks out. XOXO, Spider.

Can't live without it
This fence replaced my original one, a homebrew. I have a small business that requires repetitive drilling and frequent setting changes. Once the thing is installed and calibrated, you can just use the markings on the fence, no need to double-check. I cut a bunch of inserts, then drilled a guide hole of each different size bit I own in the insert. I install the bit, then move my table until the bit slides easily in the hole. Then I know the table is correctly positioned, and the scales will read accurately. I bought the extra high fence as an add on, which works well. The only downside is that for certain pieces of wood, the high fence is too high, and I don't trust the low fence (which is just the channel aluminum) to keep the piece from rocking. So I just made my own add-on that attaches easily using the track for those intermediate-sized pieces of wood. My only regret is not getting one of these fences sooner. Oh yes, it is made in the USA! 4/4/13 [I wrote this thinking it was for the whole table set-up, not just the fence, so this covers both the add-on fence as well as the whole system. I would suggest getting this higher fence along with the table]

this fence is basically useless without the accompanying Drill Press Table from Woodpeckers
Wait! Don't buy the other one from China!!!!This drill press fence is very high quality and it is Made in the U.S.A. This company has many products that are obviously made with pride and care, something increasingly missing in the tool market today.Just remember one important thing, this fence is basically useless without the accompanying Drill Press Table from Woodpeckers.

Not at all impressed
Pretty disappointed with what I got. A hunk of aluminum and a handful of loose fitting nuts, bolts and plastic for $85.00, OUCH! When I assembled it and put it on the Woodpecker drill press table, there was no way to rotate the handle on my drill press and lower the chuck without striking the fence tensioning knob until the table is so low that the fence won't provide stability. I contacted the manufacturer and am waiting for a reply; if they have no solution, this is going back! It would be easier to mill a chunk of wood square and c-clamp it to the table.

Screams quality! Site photo to it no credit, it is very heavy and well made. Extremely pleased, I bought the accompany table and am awaiting delivery, if the table is anything like the fence then I know I will be pleased. Woodpecker is becoming in my mind known for quality.

don't buy if tracks align with your plunge handle
the build of this is pretty solid, but the design is flawed. the knobs are so tall that the interfere with the plunge handle (at least on jet models) which makes it unusable.

Very Well Designed Table Fence
A really nice and well designed fence for the Woodpecker drill press table. Heavy, and easy to move and adjust.

Plastic knobs break
Very good fence. Busted off one of the plastic hold down knobs fairly easily, but a wrench works fine. Maybe better.
