I am a one of those people caught between sizes. I this case a 34" is snug on the buns and the 36" is a bit big around the waist. Not a problem as they have a waist tie to keep things snug. If your a 35" like me, opt for the 36" so you don't split your shorts when your hanging ten! Overall Onia makes terrific products. This is my 3rd pair I own.

These are really high quality swim trunks. The waist is a bit big for a 32, but the cinch cord helps out. It could be me, though, I tend to have the problem of big thighs, seat, with small waist.
