Purchased in 2011
I use this gauge at home on two cars at least once a month and more often as we lead into winter or summer and it hasn't let me down. The unit is very heavy duty and the batteries are replaced about 3-4 years which is why I will purchase another today after losing it over the weekend. The gauge is very precise and matches perfectly with my cars display.A note to the newbies just starting out with maintaining proper air pressure: 1) always reference the driver's side door jamb on your car for proper inflation - most cars suspension and comfort ride are designed together by both the auto manufacturer and the tire manufacturer.2) Always measure air pressure when the tires have cooled and typically in the morning before driving - this information can be found on any tire manufacturer's website.3) Because fall leading into winter can produce many temperature swings, it's best practice to check air pressure often for the best possible comfort. The car manual will sometimes say that it's okay to add a couple more pounds of pressure in the winter.4) you can expect a consistent ride from your vehicle and tires will last longer - don't forget to rotate, tires will become noisy over time if rotation is avoided. This gauge will last a very long time and well worth the money - the only issue I still have to this day, but I'm used to it, is to center the gauge just right as not to release too much air. It's tricky, but I've learned to over inflate by one pound and then use the gauge to release little bits of air until the desired pressure is achieved.

Large Readout Makes Display Optimal
As I've gotten older, I find small digital readouts especially when I'm bent over, hard to read and decipher. This Michelin MN-12279 Digital Programmable Tire Pressure Gauge has a large readout with different readings for the front and rear tires. I have a new car but it has low profile tires (to me they look flat all the time) and coupled with my dashboard low-pressure tire indicator, I have to keep checking to see if there's enough air so I'm not riding on my rims.I've used this Michelin Tire Gauge for a few months now and it is the best one I've ever had. For the most part, I've needed to check my tires when it is pitch black, not when it's a sunny bright time of day. Also, more often than not, the air/water machine at the stations are located in the darkest place on the lot so I've appreciated the LED light to read the pressure and to help screw on/off the tire caps. Now I don't have to hold a small flashlight in my mouth while trying to unscrew the caps. Now this isn't any lightweight gauge - this looks small and lightweight but it is huge and is hefty. But I liked it being weighty - it felt comfortable when using it. So far so good. I would recommend this gauge as a great addition to your car's glove compartment or trunk.

Best Tire Gauge on the market Period!
I normally do not do reviews but this Tire Gauge is simply amazing. I have purchased many top end pressure gauges, including analog ones. I even bought the $100 one that connects to the air line but returned it because I like this much better. This one feels like you are picking up a brick. It's heavy, made of metal, has a soft rubber grip, has .1 (tenths) readings. Attaching to the tire is a solid metal/rubber connection that minimizes air loss. LED is Bright blue and has a night light that doesn't accidentally go off while checking the tire pressure. Also, for those complaining about needing an air blip knob is simply not needing. All you have to do is slightly move away from the tire connection and you can relieve air down to the .1. My other gauges with an air blip to re-leave air pressure let out way to much air anyways and you have to reconnect the device to get another reading. Michelin - What an amazing tool you designed and very well priced. Nice Case BTW. FYI- The accuracy is right on too!. I am ordering another to store in the car while the other stays in the garage.

Good pressure gauge for the price!
Michelin MN-12279 Digital Programmable Tire Gauge with LightOverall – Good digital tire pressure gauge that measures down to 0.1 PSI!PROs – Well constructed; measures down to 0.1 PSICONs – Large tip makes it hard to measure valve stems that are not easily accessible.Packaging – The pressure gauge arrived in a standard retail plastic bubble pack. No issues with damage during shipping.Quality – This is one heavy tire gauge! The gauge is made with a metal frame and is solidly built. Most of the products around this price range are made of cheap plastic. I haven’t dropped it yet, but I’m thinking it will probably survive without impacting the accuracy of the gauge. The buttons on the gauge are not designed well, as they are easily pressed and there is no guard over the power button to prevent accidental power-on/reset of the readings. The included storage case is useless as it’s bowed in and constantly presses the power button. This is probably why other reviewers are experiencing battery drain. This is the only tire pressure gauge that I could find at this price that reads down to 0.1 PSI. The only complaint is the measuring end being quite large and hard to get seated properly, especially if the valve stem is not easily accessible.

Eats batteries like candy
Good features and useablity but easily gets turned on if you put something on top of it and the battery dies quicklyThen to replace the battery you need a 00 philips driver why not a slide or molded snap?Update I installed 2 new batteries yesterday they’re dead today
