Another sweeping saga
There is no doubt these books in the seven sisters series are a commitment by the reader - this one is over 701 pages long -but they are easy to read and absorbing books. I have two favourites so far and I wasn't excited to begin this one when I learned it was set initially in the Scottish highlands but after a slow start I was involved. This sister is more fey than her sisters more spiritual and you have to suspend disbelief a little with the whole healing hands and listening to voices from the other side thing which links with Tiggy's ancestors as Spanish Gitanos or gypsies.Lucinda Riley has to be admired for her research and love of history but I wonder if she didnt bite off a tiny bit more than she could chew here. given so much of Gitano history isn't recorded and she intimates but scarcely scratched the huge story of terrible suffering they faced in the time of Franco and the second world war I feel there is a far bigger and deeper story to be told but what we do learn is fascinating. Her love of music and dance does come through though with intensity and great descriptive writing and she captures the heart and soul of the dilemmas faced by driven women between career and love and family.Such a clever writer with hints here of the man who is Pa Salt, his secrets and background and what motivates him to adopt six extraordinary girls as babies from every corner of the globe and Zed a figure in three of the sister's lives - how intriguing so the back story forming slowly alongside rd dual timelines in each book. A very clever writer and a winning format so on to Electra now .....

Loved this book.
This to me is by far the best of the series. Loved the Spanish part of the book as I live not far from Granada and have spent a lot of time there. I loved the spiritual side of it and anything concerning animals gets me every time. I have also spent a lot of time exploring all of Scotland so this book was an all round winner for me. Now onto Book 6.

A page turner with a complex but compellign plot
I liked the female characters and the historical research which had obviously been done. There are a few coincidences which might stretch credibility but within the story they are certainly possible. Very absorbing to read.

Another excellent instalment in this series.
I love the way the author has the ability to change her writing style to reflect the various personalities of the sisters… a great series to get lost in.
