Easy to find the best reed for you
I like to have the choice and try new reeds. You have not to guess and buy more reeds of one kind to find the best working reed for you. Great idea!

mixed results, but great to see which reeds you prefer
bought for my friend that plays alto and I bought the tenor ones for myself to test out, on both alto and tenor the greens broke in super easy but felt cheap and made us both SUPER SHARP, maybe even a little squeaky. The ZZs are my go to, me and my friend both loved those, they play super well for upper and lower octaves, articulate well, break in fast, and have a nice sound and feel, they are also super easy to play on. I personally didn’t like the reds, my friend said they were whatever, they just played a little squeaky. The original vandorens were great as always, reliable and easy to play on. i would recommend buying to see what you prefer! i had a lot of fun trying them out

Vandorean jazz mix review
These reeds for my alto sax were AMAZING. The v16 was the best out of them all and really transformed the way I played andsounded on my instrument. I truly reccomend for beginners, music producers, and even professional players. Also, if you are buying Reeds you should use the vandoren brand because they good sounding offer long-lasting reeds for your instrument unlike some other brands that may use cheaper cane and cutting equipment.

Efficient but pricey
I was having trouble figuring out what vandoren reed would be the best for me, and didn’t want to spend all my money on one box just to not like it, so I got these and they are (as the title says)… The Java red was nice, it has the lowest resistance out of the group and played pretty smoothly in all registers. The Java green I think I liked more because it has a darker tone unlike the Java red which has a more medium bright tone to it, and I thought the green sounded better for jazz, although at first there was some resistance but after a while I got used to it. I would say it was a bit more challenging to play in the upper and lower registers with the Java green which is one thing I didn’t like but maybe I just need to get used to it. I loved the v16 just as much as the Java green, I would say I’d rather use it for classical than jazz because of how bright the tone is but it has a very pretty and distinct sound to it and there was some resistance at first but I got used to it. I’d say it works pretty good in all registers. As for the ZZ, it has a medium warm tone I’d say, it plays really good in the lower register, maybe not as much as the upper one but still. Took some extra time to get used to the resistance but maybe my mouth was just tired, but now that I’ve gotten a bit used to it I’m liking it more. Might end up being my fav for jazz, as well as the Java green. But I love the v16 just as much but I’ll leave that for classical.

Love the sampler!
Great reeds! I like how this product has a reed sampler that they sell because it’s hard to purchase a quality reed if you’ve never used it before and you’re basing your decisions simply on reviews. The sampler allows people to try it and see how they like it. Also people have preferences and different styles of playing so these samples allow you to try the different types of reeds before blowing all your money on a box of 10 reeds that you may end up not liking (like I did). I’m liking the Java green so far. It has a brighter quality to it when playing the sax and allows me to hit the high notes with ease. The greens are good for more jazzy funk styles. Reds are good too. Great product!

They all played well but slightly different.
A good sampler. All reeds played without adjustment. They each play differently. Java green the brightest with a good "pop" or edge down to the ZZ that was the most mellow. Good to have when testing a mouthpiece to find the best match.
