Excellent buy! Great for loosening up tense muscles, beginners should just start off slowly and not use so much bodyweight.
Lightweight foam roller, high density, fast shipping.I bought the 36" foam roller after reading this review that compared all the different types of foam rollers (from the rumble-roller, to the GRID, to even a PVC pipe:http://www.swolept.com/posts/critical-foam-roller-review-rumbleroller-vs-the-grid#.VJ5EHsAAThe review stated that a PVC pipe was one of the best and cheapest options for foam-rolling out tense muscles, but I only JUST started out foam-rolling so I didn't want something that was so hard because I thought it would be quite painful.PROS:-Foam rolling really helps to ease out your muscles and when you have this high-density roller, you can really FEEL it when you hit a tight spot-This foam roller is cheap compared to other gimmicks like the GRID and rumble-roller (go see the review i linked above)-Its super lightweight and durable. It feels like frozen, ultra-reinforced styrofoam - won't break/sag under your weight, but light as a feather.-Large-size makes it easier to foam-roll big muscle groups such as your back/legs without rolling offCONS:-Not very portable/storage friendly due to its huge size (I bought the 36" option).TIPS:-For people new to foam rolling, this might still be a little painful to foam-roll on, esp if you have tight muscles, because it is quite a hard surface, but start slowly and dont use your entire bodyweight.-Foam-rolling is best for people who have average core strength / strong wrists and arms, because you have to support yourself while you are on the roller and adjust your bodyweight pressure accordingly.-Get the smaller, 18" one if you want a portable foam roller that you can bring around with you.-You can get both, one for massaging the smaller portions of your body (eg. inner thighs, shoulders) and another 36" for bigger muscle groups-Search youtube for "REAL-TIME foam rolling exercises". These videos actually do the exercise together at your pace with you, and don't just show you moves for a couple of seconds and switch to the next. Choose the longest videos for the most wholesome foam-rolling massages.-Your body is not tense ALL over, so dont feel like you need to massage everything (it will take ages). Different people use different muscle groups. Once you find your own tight spot, you should concentrate and massage ONLY that tense area for about 1-1.5 minutes. I did it for a spot on my calves and it felt SOOOO good.

5 Stars
This is my second purchase from Incline Fit and I must say that I am one satisfied customer! I did my research before purchasing this roller and saw on other roller reviews that sometimes they came with dents, were too stiff, lost their shape easily or would shed tiny small foam pieces but not this one. This is a perfect example of "what you see is what you get". If you want an extra firm foam roller this is a great purchase. It doesn't surprise me that this roller has only received 4 and 5 star reviews. Again, I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

Great buy!
I've tried many foam rollers, most more expensive than this one. This one is perfect. High quality, firm foam that really works to loosen up your tense, tight, aching muscles and trigger points. As an aging runner, this really helps with my knees and my alignment issues. And I don't really think all those rollers with the grooves do anything better than a simple foam roller such as this do.Perfect for athletes, or anyone with tight muscles. Just be sure to ease into it.

Happy with it; just make sure you buy the size that's right for you
I'm happy with this. It's exactly what I was expecting. I don't find it too painful. If you have never foam rolled, like me, make sure you decide what type of foam rolling exercises you want to do before you order. I bought the 18 inch but will likely order a longer one, as my physical therapist taught me some spine exercises today that involve laying your head and back on the length of it. This is a great size for hips, legs, back of shoulders, and doesn't feel bulky in my small apartment.

great working product ...
I love this black roller. After six months of using it daily for my left shoulder, lower back and hamstrings stretches the roller is still firm and intact. It is working great to release sore spots...I cured my low back-pain issue. I use it preventively and it feels good. I would wish I knew about this earlier. Recommended for everyone who suffer with back pain issue.

Lightweight, very firm, excellent price'
I bought the 18" roller for PT with my two broken ankles, but the first thing I did was roll out stiff back muscles after weight lifting at the gym and I have no idea how I have managed my whole life without one. This is high quality craftmanship, like the other product I purchased from Incline. Very firm, very lightweight--makes this easy to use. It is great for elevating my swollen ankles as well.

Great and doesn't deform even under full body weight
I weigh 240lbs and this hasn't deformed yet -- even when I put all my weight on a narrow pressure point. I use it just about every day and it's fantastic. I use it to perform this routine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSSDLDhbacc so you know I'm not just pussy footing around here. Really really helps stretch my leg muscles out, even for days where I'm not working out it's great when my legs are just sore

Great roller
High quality. It is quite firm so maybe not ideal for beginners, but for anyone who rolls regularly, it is great. It has held up well for several months of outside use.

As Expected
First roller purchase. Bought this to get started on some serious SMR (self myofascial release therapy) and was not disappointed. The black colour usually indicates the level of density, so obviously this one is the most dense. I am pretty comfortable with adjusting myself according to pain, but may not be the best for someone unfamiliar with body or rolling in general. A medium density would be much better in that case. The length makes this super versatile, and I am able to hit basically every area in my body (all the way up to the occipital lobe) without much trouble. Quite enjoy the process of working through the body using a single tool. It's very stable and never once ran out of room. Solid product, massive value for $30 and being able to do physiotherapy on your entire body.Big Thumbs UP

Not recommended..
I don't know why the reviews are so positive for this item. I bought this because the price was low, but it is low for a reason! Unlike most rollers which use a nice plastic, this is just colored Styrofoam! To be fair it appears a bit more durable than your average packing Styrofoam, but it is basically the same thing. This roller also lacks the bumps and ridges and I feel it doesn't do a good job when compared to my other rollers.

Super Firm !
This roll is REALLY firm. I wish there was some way to measure it and describe how hard it is before buying. that being said it gets the job done and really rolls out knots if you can take the pain. Definitely need to be careful on it though, as depending on your weight and how you use it, it can easily cause injury. For those wondering it is literally 1 point lower than being a fully solid roll. There is very little give. So if you have sensitive muscles you are planning on rolling with this, expect some pain !

Longer is better
I've been looking for a 36" foam roller, which enables me to lie on it length-wise along my spine with my arms out to relax my pec major; this is quite uncomfortable to execute on a smaller roller. It is nice and firm. Can do everything a smaller roller can plus more! Excellent for a full-body roll-out.

Love it, people recommended not getting a black roller ...
Love it, people recommended not getting a black roller if you are new to rolling however this worked out well for me. I am a bit on the small light side and something less dense would have been disappointing to me. My husband also uses it and just puts a bit of weight on his arms while he is rolling until he gets used to the density. I get a tight knot in my upper back/shoulders from working at a desk all day, this can immediately help relieve some of the tightness.
