Silhouette America SIlhouette Alta 3D Printer

I am very happy with this purchase. I was able to start using it straight out of the box. The software is pretty intuitive for me, since I already use the Silhouette Studio (for the Cameo cutter) software. The software has its limitations, but that is what makes it easy to use. The software will, however, import files created by other 3D software, so if you have those skills, the world is truly your oyster with this machine. I had the opportunity to use support via email and via the online chat. Both were excellent experiences. I have enjoyed excellent support for my Silhouette Cameo for the last six or seven years that I've owned their machines, and I was pleased to see that that experience will continue with the Alta. For the very low price, this machine has great function and quality. Definitely would recommend it to anyone interested in 3D printing at this level.

I was surprised by how much I liked the Silhouette Alta. I am new to 3D printing, so I wasn't sure what I'd be able to make with it, but after gaining inspiration from several Facebook groups, I was able to create toys for my girls, pendants, keychains, and more.While this wouldn't be the ideal printer if you are looking for a higher-end machine with a heated bed, fan, and other advanced features, it is a great starter machine for someone interested in trying out 3D printing.I loved that Silhouette 3D ties into my existing Silhouette library of 2D designs, which can then be extruded to form cookie cutters, jewelry boxes, and other 3D designs. Silhouette also has a growing library of designs in their store, so it was nice to be able to apply my subscription credit to 3D content.

This machine is a piece of junk. I own every other Silhouette machine and baring a few minor issues they are great. The ALTA arrived, and it has never worked. For about 6 weeks, I have been in the silhouette chat and on the phone with them. The last thing they did was to send me a new print head. Nor I have a $300.00 Alta with parts all over the place. Swing Design's refund police is a full refund on any box that has not been opened. other wise they start deducting $$ . There is no was for me to return it. Silhouette said I have to replace the print head so they can tell if it is defective or not. I am VERY DISSAPOINTED with this machine. I would advise anyone interested, to waite until it has been out for a year or more so they can work out the bugs. Not worth the money and NOT through Sing Design. (How do you know if it is broken if you don't open the box?).

AMAZING!! I saw a lot of bad reviews about this machine so I bought a Monoprice. I hate it!! Really complicated to use and the app is old and horrible.I changed it for the ALTA and I'm so happy!Easy to use, the Silhouette 3D is great and the quality of the objects are perfect!!

I am in the process of the sending my REPLACEMENT machine back to Amazon today! This is the absolute worst machine Silhouette has came out with. I absolutely love their products and was extremely happy when I knew I could use the Silhouette Program to design. However, the first machine arrived broken. The second one has only printed 3 cookie cutters and will NOT print (the filament will not stick to the bed) for the past 3 days! I'm beyond upset.It is not worth the money.

i love this product. it's very new so there's bugs to be had. however, that being said, i love it. the user support from silhouette is next to nothing (it's new) but there's a very helpful group on FB that has tutorials and helpers. community knowledge vs company support. i've had it since christmas and use it extensively every week. i wish it came with more plate tape and better instructions... but with the group and youtube i was able to get it set up and running.

I'm in love with this. It was really easy to learn how to use it and it was my first 3d printing machine. Maybe I'm ready for one that can build bigger things.

It doesn't connect to newer Apple computers. I replaced to printer and couldn't get a connection TWICE. It's impossible to get a response for the support team let alone getting person on the phone. DO NOT GET THIS CRAP!!!
