Can this be slightly bent?

No, bending it can compromise the integrity of the element and damage the internal insulation that surrounds the wiring, causing a short in the element. Any modification of the original product, including bending it, will automatically void the warranty of the item.

Does it come with the O-ring? Is the base stainless also?

Yes, it comes with the O-ring. The base is plated steel I believe, but corrosion problems at the base hardly tend to ever be an issue. As always, a bit of teflon tape on the thread (for lubricity, not sealing) is good to have down the road.
