Adorable but Missing Some Important Info!
I haven't made any of the critters in this book yet, but I can't wait to get started! They're adorable and make me want to design my own creatures. Now that I've looked at the book further I can give a more detailed review. I'm an intermediate crocheter but decided to start with an easy critter in this book to test it out. In researching what yarn and other items I'll need to make the skeleton bride & groom I discovered that they don't tell you how much yarn you need to buy for each critter. They also don't tell you the approximate finished size of the critters either. There is a gauge listed of 5 sc x 5 rows = 1" x 1" but it's kind of hard (at least for me - math isn't one of my best subjects! :-)) to guess the finished size of the critter and how much yarn I'll need. Since I prefer to buy yarns with dye lots I guess I'll have to buy several skeins more than I think I'll need to be sure I have enough of the same dye lot to make each critter. This is a little frustrating since I prefer not to buy way more yarn than I need.

Solid buy, no regrets
I decided to buy this after reading all the reviews (even the negative ones) as a little present for myself. I'm really happy with my purchase even though I do not normally buy crochet patterns. As a lot of the negative reviewers have said, the basic pattern is repetitive with added accessories for each character. You can clearly see that from just the cover before you buy it, so I'm not sure why those people were disappointed. I mostly bought this for inspiration and just to have a really cute little book around for reference and consistency. This would be a great buy for a slightly experienced crocheter who knows the basics and is looking for some cute projects to expand their abilities. (The repetition would actually be good in this case.)I will also add that for some of the little accessories like the sword or the tie, there should have been a few extra pages in the back of the book that you could cut out multiple copies of the accessories instead of just the shape on each project page. Other than that, great book.I also learned a new hair technique from dolls, so that was a huge plus!

A creepy cute challenge
This book is a little more challenging than I expected and some of the terms are confusing. I took some of my questions to some crochet forums and have gotten some help, but some of the instructions even confused the seasoned crochet veterans (Cthulhu's face is a good example). However, the results, when you get them, are really great. This book is way more in depth that others I have tried (Amigurumi World: Seriously Cute Crochet) and uses a variety of stitches that look cleaner and give more shape than just using single crochet. Also it has tips for fringe hair, different styles of eyes (using sculpty, beads etc.), making felt weapons, which adhesives to use, how to stuff so it isn't lumpy, and a very good list of needed and optional supplies. Most of the projects can be completed in a day's time easily. The writing is also very entertaining and I love that she uses both a visual representation of the pattern (circles with symbols) and the standard written out version. Overall I would say this is a great book for a somewhat experienced crocheter who is looking for a little bit of a challenge and some serisouly imaginative patterns.

Cute and Simple
Everything in Creepy Cute Crochet  is absolutely adorable and if you can find it for a good price, the ninja alone makes it worth it. This is a great book for someone who's just learning how to crochet in the round or amigurumi. All the projects are small so they can be finished in no time and it gives you a great sense of accomplishment. It's not the greatest book for someone who's more advanced with crochet though. Most of the patterns are made from a standard head and body pattern with a little bit of embellishment to make them look different. You'll have a little army in no time but the stitches and patterns aren't very challenging. To fully finish the designs, you do need polymer clay and/or felt, so you may end up running to the store for these items if they're not already in your stash.Overall it's a cute book that would be great as a gift for a young crocheter just starting out. I don't regret adding it to my library but I doubt I'll be picking it up for tips once I'm finished making all the dolls.

Creepy love
I got this book a while ago and finally started using it in the last few weeks. I can't believe I waited so long. I love it! There are so many cute little creatures to create. I have been making them for friends and they see one I have made for a friend and then want their own. Very creative creatures in here that are on the verge of scary, but looking so cute! The only drawback is that you really have to have a little practice crocheting before doing anything from this book. It is a challenge for me. I was able to do every one I have tried, but still a challenge. The other drawback is that some things are not explained exactly and you have to figure them out or even google You Tube to see how to do something. Maybe more skilled crocheters know this already though and the book is for people that have more experience. It is totally worth it to buy it if you have a little practice under your belt. I am sure you will enjoy it! I hope the author write a sequel.

Kleine, schnell gemachte "Cuties"
