Good book
A very enjoyable book about a great saint. I highly recommend it to anyone is is interested in learning more about St Joan.

Very god, but not great
There was SO much of this saint's life left out of the story I found myself disappointed. The author is very good and should have included so much more of the corrupt people, including the dauphin himself, and so much more of the trial.Mark Twain' book 'Joan of Arc' was far more comprehensive, and while Twain was not Catholic, the author of this book is and should have made more of an effort to include more events in the saint' life.I'm glad I bought, and I enjoyed it.Perhaps it's unfair to compare any contemporary writer to Twain.

Truly inspiring.
I loved the book on many occasions. Not only did it obviously withhold biblical meanings, it also kept a realistic war based plot to it. I would highly recommend this book if you need to do a Christian biography book report, or any biography report in that matter. My only hindrance to giving this five stars is that I felt there was a bit too much information. As silly as it sounds, since I throughly believe knowledge is great in greater servings, I just felt like sometimes it would shimmy away from Joan and onto other things that I could understand the story without.

A book for all times and ages!
What a beautiful and gentle tribute to St. Joan! In this era, more of us need to take up God's banner and fight for His will to be done. Thank you, de Wohl, for writing this book.

Tears for the final chapter
I have yet to find anyone that does a better job in writing novel versions of saintly lives. Reading Louis Dr Wohl is like taking a walk with the saints and knowing them like a friend.

Another wonderful book by De Wohl
After reading Twain's Joan of Arc, I decided to read this biography by de Wohl. I was not disappointed. It kept my interest from cover to cover, reinforcing the facts from Joan's life, and serving to separate the fact from fiction in Twain's work.

St Joan of Arc the Martre
Interesting story about medieval France. I had not been reminded of the story of St. Joan of Arc since grade school English class and it then was not told in the context of the Hundred Years War, so this book, and beautiful scenic France I'm seeing while watching the Tour de France bicycle race has refreshed my interest in French/British history.

Informative and entertaining
Very easy to read and very entertaining. As all Louis de Wohl books, it's very interesting the way he combines the history of the country with the story of the saint he's narrating. Highly recommend it!

Best account of St Joan's life
Louis de Wohl is the best writer of the saints' lives. Saint Joan was inspired by the Holy Spirit and showed that, although she was a poor peasant, God chooses who He chooses. She fell foul of the political corruption of her day and was burned at the stake. Great read!

Molto coinvolgente
