Good little welder
Be sure to check the polarity for what your set up for welding..whether your using flux core wire or soild..didnt know you had to change your polarity for either way..once i figured this out..it started welding really nice..read the directions first duh😝😝

Company is amazing
I had an issue with the welder I ordered, some pieces came broken. They overnighted me everything broken and a few extras. I’ve called their “ask an expert” three times for advice and tips and they’ve always been helpful. Besides some arc welding in the army, I’m brand new. They walked me through both my intelligent and unintelligent questions.

Great little welder
I bought this several years ago and it's been a great welder. The gun feels cheap compared to the professional ones I've used at work. But it's a great entry level welder. No regrets.

Don't be put off by the price, this thing is great!
I'm an experienced metal worker who has used a variety of mid to high end MIG machines. The price and feature list on this machine always scared me off.110V? Ugh.No amp setting, just 4 power levels? Ick.Flux core wire? What's that?It just didn't seem possible to take this machine seriously. But then an emergency job came up and I didn't have access to the machines I normally do. Faced with no better options - and figuring the machine to be disposable - I picked one up.And got the surprise of my life - this thing *works*.Sure, you can see where Lincoln cost-reduced to get the price down. But they have chosen wisely and the bits that matter are nice and solid. The flux core wire welds incredibly smoothly and you get a nice view of the puddle. It's a little dirtier than with gas, but not outrageously so and it makes less spatter than stick. This is a real welder. It isn't disposable - it's a keeper!

Handy Little Welder
I'm new to metal working, so I don't have any other machines to compare the Lincoln 140 to. However, after a few weeks of use now, I couldn't be happier with it. I wanted something portable that could be plugged in to a standard outlet for use with shop projects, furniture making, and general tinkering. The unit I received was well packed and all of the parts were in working order. The instructions were easy to follow, even for someone who has never used a mig welder before. The computer CD that comes with the kit (not a DVD, which took me a minute to figure out...it isn't labeled) gives good tips on setup and general welding techniques. The chart on the inside of the unit gives simple instructions for how the machine should be configured for flux core wire versus standard wire w/shielding gas. It also has a good quick reference chart for the machine settings for various thicknesses of metal. Once you get the settings right, the unit puts down a nice, consistent bead. I really enjoy the flux-core wire, as it doesn't require a tank of shielding gas. I've welded sheet metal and tube steel down to 16 GA with good results. The manual indicates that a shielded setup is necessary for thinner sheet metal, but I've not tried that feature yet. If you're looking for a portable, relatively light weight machine that you can plug in to a standard 20 amp circuit and use without shielding gas, this machine does the trick. I'm very satisfied and would highly recommend it.
