Good Luck with This One
Maybe you'll get one that actually works. Good luck with that. I ordered mine from Musiciansfriend.com because it was heavily discounted. Plus I checked it out on Youtube.com and it had some pretty impressive sounds. Mine arrived today. Major disappointment. I could barely hear any effects at all. I twisted all the knobs and not much happened. So it's going back. Might be worth the risk to get one because it seems like an awesome pedal (when it works). Just be ready to get a refund. Maybe it's a bit unfair to even rate a pedal that was apparently defective but it definitely didn't pass the test. Consider the one star to be a caution sign.

A nice-to-have, not a must-have
Covers the more subtle flange range rather well; it does not do extreme '80s sounds, which is fine by me. I use it sparingly, and as such it takes too much space on the pedal board.

Weird Underrated Bipolar Flange
This is a very unique pedal that I feel will become a bit of a hidden gem among pedal geeks. Its very odd because in the standard flanger mode, its a relatively mild and paletable flanger that does what most people looking for a flanger (save for Paul Gilbert fans) are looking for out of a flanger. So if you're looking for a flanger that does anything from '69 to '79, this is a decent pedal. Relatively transparent, brightens up your signal, and is a decent "chorus" like all early/mild flange pedals are. What makes this pedal worthwhile is how it interacts with other pedals. When paired with fuzz, chorus, or both, it seems to amplify its own parameters and becomes more flanger-y. With a chorus pedal, it adds another wave of oscillation creating ultra hypnotic waves of sound, and with a fuzz it turns into a grindy monster that adds a bit of treble on top to even out an effect that generally darkens sound. However the most unique, underrated, and (being fair) one note aspect about this effect that NO OTHER FLANGER EVER MADE does is the extra "LFO" mode it has. Turning this on allegedly creates a random low frequency oscillator like a ring mod, but in my experience it just squares off the effect, effectively creating a square wave flanger. Now this is kinda boring and obnoxious sounding when its fast, but dial back the rate knob and it unleashes an armada of airplane flange swoops and paired with some fuzz creates a sound you will NEVER achieve with any other pedal.

Flange Fail
I read a number of reviews on this after ordering, and they pretty much all said that it was not really a hard flanger so much as a sort of watered-down chorus-sounding device. After getting mine and messing with it, I think that's accurate. It's pretty mushy-sounding. For some reason, the ballyhooed random LFO apparently does not work at all on mine. I spent about an hour trying to get any response from it with no luck. It's going back as defective.
