Takes patience
As with other fobs offered this one had the same issue with the plastic circle the key rotates on is too big. You have to use an exact knife of nail file to make it smaller so key rotates freely. As I went along I pushed key on and rotated several times. Took off key and you can see silver residue where it’s touching. Scrap that off, put key on and rotate again. After a few times I got key to rotate freely. Now for the hard part. Once you rotate key to wind spring you have to hold it down, hold silver key holder in place and then assemble the unit. That’s great if you have 4 hands. To make it easier I placed super glue on the silver key ring part and glued it to the opposite side of the cover. Now I don’t have to hold that, the key and try to assemble unit. Just hold key from rotating and then snap other side of fob on. Worked great. BTW. There’s a white silicon insert inside fob. Unlike my first attempts I removed the part figuring it was used for maybe another different fob. Anyway, leaving it out doesn’t allow buttons to work properly. Anyway, fob works great and save me a ton of money. Oh! I should mention. Good luck getting old fob apart. Regardless of what utube videos show it’s a major pain. I used a Dremel to cut mine apart. Made sure I only went as deep to expose edge of control board. Went around bottom first to score fob then using a pliers pried off bottom of fob exposing circuit board. I was able to slide board out of bottom of fob. Cutting around entire fob won’t work because it’s secured a little way from the outside edge of the fob. Used Dremel to cut more of fob off to get key off.

By Golly It Works!
My husband needed a new fob for his 2016 Hyundai. The dealership quoted $698. to get a new key/fob made. We were told to just get a new fob shell and put the original's internal hardware in it, golly it works! It was easy to do.

Instructions would be helpful
This is the second time that I have ordered this product. It lasted for over two years before I had to replace it. My only complaint is that it does not come with any instructions on how to transfer your existing key into the new case. I cannot get the key to "spring back" but the remote is functional and the key is secure. I would order again if needed in the future.

The blank key doesn't work
The case was fine but the slot in the blank key is right down the center of the key when the old one is offset so the key can't be cut and won't work. Not only that but I've tried putting my old key in the new case but the tolerances are off ever so slightly that it doesn't fit. Do your research first and ensure the groove in the key matches yours.

This replacement fob is better than the OEM
Or as good. The gripe is the original. It s for a 2016 Santa Fe and the back up key. The rubber on front just crumbled over time. As annoying as this is, worst it appears the original is glued together and destruction of the fob is the only way to finish the exchange. The replacement looks as good or better than the original and it is serviceable..Update,after getting a new key from the dealer, took the chance and hacksawed the worst non-operational OEM key fob to get the PCB and key. It assemble quickly, only problem is the spring loaded key does not snap out quickly as the OEM.

Used only the silicone button piece
I took the advice of other reviews and used only the silicone buttons. It wasn't quite as easy as others have said. Here's what I found:* The silicone buttons are interchangeable and fit nicely* The silicone has a little edge/lip that wraps around a plastic part/frame under it. That plastic part is not interchangeable.* Be careful if you remove the original plastic part, it can break.* Once you have the silicone on the plastic, re-insert it carefully. If you don't line up the pegs, you might smush them and make it hard to get back together.* I removed the plastic part before I knew it wasn't interchangeable. I don't know if you can get the silicone on without removing the plastic because I didn't try it. Maybe the plastic doesn't need to be removed.Overall, it worked out fine. The old key fob now looks new.

No instructions, so get ready to watch YouTube videos
This is a difficult task, replacing the key fob, but it's the only way to go, since it costs about $400 to replace the fob through a dealer. I suggest watching at least 5 YouTube videos regarding this product. I found the most valuable suggestion was given in one of the comments to a video, where the user suggested heating the blade of a razor knife to open your old key fob. I found this to be crucial in opening up the old key fob.My new key fob works almost perfectly, with some issues getting the key to pop up. That's a minor inconvenience, since now, for the first time in years, I can lock and unlock the car remotely.

Fast and simple.
I ordered the keyfob on a holiday weekend. It arrived on the holiday right before I had to meet the owner of the car. Best part was the installation of the new buttons. Fast 3 steps to do it.1 remove old rubber2 carefully remove the black clip behind it3 remove the crome ring.YouTube helped me
